TOR1 (Hyman-Tavares-Marner)
Toronto’s top line comes into tonight in a great spot against the New Jersey Devils, who are surrendering the 3rd-most Corsi Against per 60 on the road in 2018. TOR1 has posted almost 36 Scoring Chances For per 60 and 15 High-Danger Chances For per 60 on the year at even-strength, and as usual, Tavares and Marner will be on the top power-play unit against a Devils team that is averaging 4 Times Short-Handed on the year. They’re certainly not cheap, but a high-event line going up against some shaky Devils goaltending is well worth the price of admission.
WPG1 (Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler)
WPG1 should play big minutes tonight in what could be a hard-match scenario against Nathan MacKinnon and the Avs’ top line. They’re recording over 65 Corsi For per 60 and 33 Scoring Chances For per 60 at even-strength, and even though it’s a solid even-strength matchup against the MacKinnon line, the power-play time is a huge boost here. Winnipeg has the 2nd-best power-play (33.3%) this year while the Avalanche lead the league in Times Short-Handed (63 in 15 games). To top it off, this line is oddly affordable on DraftKings, as they can be had for under $18K.
MIN1 (Zucker-Staal-Granlund)
Zucker, Staal, and Granlund were quietly re-united last night and did little to get the attention of the DFS community, so on a back-to-back, many will overlook them. This line has been one of the best trios in the NHL since being put together in January, and their numbers support that, as they’ve posted over 34 Scoring Chances For per 60 with 19.1 High-Danger Chances For per 60 at even-strength. The even-strength matchup should be superb no matter which ANA line they get, as the Getzlaf-Rakell pairing is allowing 17 High-Danger Chances per 60 and the Cogliano-Kelser-Gibbons trio has been incredibly leaky as well (26 Scoring Chances allowed, 13 High-Danger Chances allowed in 36 minutes). For $16,600 on DraftKings, they’re an excellent low-owned pivot to some of the chalkier top lines on tonight’s 6-game slate.
