NSH1 (Forsberg-Johansen-Fiala)
The Preds’ will be taking on the Avalanche, who are on the back-end of a road back-to-back, and their top line comes into tonight very affordable on DraftKings. While we’d probably prefer Arvidsson to be on the top line, Fiala has filled in nicely with Forsberg and Johansen, as that trio has posted over 61 Corsi For per 60, 32.6 Scoring Chances For per 60, and 14.7 High-Danger Chances For per 60 in 84 minutes of 5v5 ice time. The Avs took another 4 penalties last night, extending their Times Short-Handed lead to 13 over the 2nd-place team (WSH) in that category, so power-play time on the top unit for Johansen and Forsberg makes this line a great GPP stack.
TOR1 (Hyman-Tavares-Marner)
The Tavares line will likely be going up against opposing top competition tonight on home ice, but MTL’s top line has been very leaky defensively. On the year, Drouin-Danault-Gallagher has allowed 29.3 Scoring Chances Against per 60 and 15.6 High-Danger Chances Against per 60 at 5v5, as they’ve given up when they get in their own end. The Tavares line has struggled to put pucks in the back of the net as of late, but a solid 5v5 matchup against a team that takes a lot of penalties (7th-most TSH) gives them a great opportunity to get back where they were before the turn of the new year. The price is tough to beat, too, as this line is under $18K on DraftKings.
