TB2 (Johnson-Point-Kucherov)
The Point line for the Lightning is affordable in a high-total game against a Leafs team that allows their fair share of chances, so this trio shouldn’t go underowned, but they’re a scary fade at the very least. They’re going to get hard-matched on either the Tavares or Matthews lines, which both trade chances at even-strength, so the matchup doesn’t really matter all that much because it will be solid either way. At home with a large implied total and being on a team that has drawn the 2nd-most penalties this year, Tampa Bay’s 2nd line has all the makings of a great stack on DraftKings.
MTL2 (Tatar-Danault-Gallagher)
The Montreal Canadiens will look to redeem themselves tonight on home ice against the possibly Jordan-Staal-less Carolina Hurricanes tonight. The numbers for this line are still amongst the best in the NHL, but the results haven’t been as great, so the ownership on them should be fairly low in large-field tournaments. The Canadiens have been inconsistent, but we could see MTL2 get the majority of their ice time against the Aho-Teravainen line, which would be preferable. For just $15,100 on DraftKings, they make for an excellent filler stack with one of the many high-tier stacks on this slate.
CBJ3 (Duclair-Wennberg-Bjorkstrand)
With a few very expensive stacks that are in great spots tonight, this dirt cheap 3rd line makes for an interesting filler. The offensive fancy numbers they’ve posted are surprisingly very good as they’re on pace for 62.3 Corsi For per 60, 34.9 Scoring Chances For per 60, and 18 High-Danger Chances For per 60 at even-strength. The numbers alone are enough for me to take a couple shots on them in GPPs, but adding in the matchup against the Kings’ depth lines and the likely sub 2% ownership and they are a solid MME play on DraftKings.
