DET1 (Bertuzzi-Larkin-Nyquist)

The top line for the Red Wings has been quietly generating chance after chance after another 8 Scoring Chances at 5v5 in Vancouver on Sunday afternoon. For the year, they have a Corsi For Percentage over 60 while generating over 35 Scoring Chances For per 60 and 11.1 High-Danger Chances For per 60 at 5-on-5. The matchup against the Oilers is solid on a team level as Edmonton is allowing the 5th-most Scoring Chances Against per 60 and 4th-most High-Danger Chances Against per 60 at home, but looking at the McDavid line, which they should face for the majority of the game, it’s allowing over 32 SCA/60 and 14 HDCA/60. For a fair price on DraftKings, this line’s ownership should stay in check even on a 5-game slate.

NYI1 (Lee-Nelson-Eberle)

The Isles’ top line should have plenty of opportunities at both even-strength and the power-play to chalk up a big performance for a cheap price in Chicago tonight. They’ve done a great job creating high-quality chances (13.2 High-Danger Chances For per 60) at even-strength, which is the Blackhawks’ biggest weakness, as they lead the NHL in High-Danger Chances Against per 60 and Scoring Chances Against per 60. No matter who the Hawks try to shut down between the Nelson line and the Barzal line, both should have great matchups, as neither the Toews line nor the Strome line are solid defensively. It’s hard not to give the edge to the Nelson line here, as they have full PP1 correlation against the league’s worst penalty-kill, and their prices on FanDuel especially are appealing.

SJ1 (Meier-Couture-Pavelski)

The Couture line for the Sharks should get a great matchup at even-strength despite being on the back-end of a road back-to-back. There certainly is the possibility of a letdown game here for San Jose, but going by the underlying numbers, the edge goes to the Sharks’ top line by a good margin. The Caps are allowing at least the 4th-most Corsi Against, Scoring Chances Against, and High-Danger Chances Against (all per 60) on home ice in the 2018-19 season. The Backstrom line, allowing 12.6 High-Danger Chances Against per 60, should hard-match SJ1, and each of these guys will play on the power-play, where the Sharks (24.7% PP) should also have a sizable advantage over the Caps (most Times Short-Handed, 78.1% PK).
