BUF1 (Reinhart-Eichel-Skinner)
The Buffalo top line comes into tonight as one of my highest projected stacks on the night despite it not being a matchup most will want to pick on. Their opponent, the Lightning, have been middle-of-the-pack defensively in Corsi Against per 60, Scoring Chances Against per 60, and High-Danger Chances Against per 60 on the road this year, while the Skinner-Eichel combo has been fantastic so far. Top power-play time is crucial for these Sabres, too, as the Lightning have been short-handed the 4th-most times in the NHL this year. Reinhart’s price make this line fairly affordable on DraftKings for under $19K and what should be fairly low ownership on home ice.
SJ2 (Meier-Couture-Hertl)
The Sharks’ 2nd line trio of Timo Meier, Logan Couture, and Tomas Hertl has been dominant at even-strength this year, attempting almost 75 shots per 60, 40 Scoring Chances per 60, and 11 High-Danger Chances For per 60. They’ll be taking on an adequate Nashville team, but one that is on a road back-to-back after a shootout loss to the Ducks. They should see a lot of the top Nashville line, which has been leaky without Viktor Arvidsson, as the Johansen-Forsberg combo (without Arvidsson) has allowed 14.4 High-Danger Chances at even-strength. Meier, Couture, and Hertl all play on the power-play in some fashion, so adding Erik Karlsson or Brent Burns to make this underpriced 3-man ($17,100 on DK) a 4-man is certainly doable if you want the Sharks onslaught in GPPs.
MIN2 (Zucker-Staal-Granlund)
Despite their immediate success since being put back together, this Minnesota line is still underpriced on both site and they find themselves in a favorable spot on home ice. The defending Stanley Cup Champions are allowing the 3rd-most Scoring Chances and the most High-Danger Chances per 60 of any team on the road this year, and putting the big guns (Ovechkin, Backstrom, Oshie) on line 1 all but guarantees the Staal line will see great matchups all night at even-strength. Throw in top power-play time for Zucker, Staal, and Granlund against a 71.7% Caps kill, and we’ve got one of the best values stacks of the night.
