DraftKings and FanDuel NHL Stacks of the Day for 4/5

With only 3 baseball games on the night slate, tonight is a great chance to get back on the ice with a 12-game NHL slate. I feel like I keep repeating myself each day in the intro, but it is very important to keep up with news, as we’ll see some regular guys sit for teams that don’t have a lot to play for. This should be a pretty fun slate with a lot to tackle, so lets get into some stacks. Awesemo will lead us off, and then I (Tommienation1) will follow up.

NYR1: Kreider-Zibanejad-Spooner ($15,800 DK/$17,800 FD)

“The Rangers may be on the road here, but their implied team total is at 3 and most top lines going on the road to face Islanders will make sense in tournaments. The Rangers’ top line is no exception.”

The Kreider-Zibanejad combo has been a bright spot for the Rangers over the last month, posting over 35 Scoring Chances For per 60 minutes and 16 High-Danger Chances For per 60 minutes at even-strength. The Islanders don’t hard-match, but they’ll see a lot of time against the Barzal and Tavares lines, both of which allow over 35 Scoring Chances Against per 60 minutes as well as 12.5 High-Danger Chances Against per 60 minutes. The numbers just line up so well for this line, making them one of the best tournament stacks on a huge slate.

CBJ1: Panarin-Dubois-Atkinson ($20,800 DK/$20,500 FD)

“The Blue Jackets have an implied total near 3 tonight at home in a huge game against the Penguins. They’re not cheap on DraftKings, but as far as raw points go, they have a great chance to post a big score in tournaments.”

We know this line has had a ton of success at even-strength and they should get high-event matchups against the Penguins’ top two lines. Both the Malkin and Crosby lines allow over 12.2 High-Danger Chances Against per 60 minutes, and the Penguins’ penalty-kill is below-average at 79.8% on the season. With these guys all on the top power-play in a huge game, expect them to get over 20 minutes of total ice time assuming this game stays somewhat close.

SJ1: Meier-Pavelski-Donskoi ($14,700 DK/$16,000 FD)

“The Sharks have a nice team total over 3 at home in tonight’s tilt against the Avalanche. This high-event top line all gets power-play time against an Avs team that has a tough time staying out of the penalty box.”

This trio, which should be together if Evander Kane is forced to miss another game, is an awesome stack tonight for tournaments. Both teams should be trotting out their full lineups tonight as it is a big game both ways, but this top line will not see a lot of time against the MacKinnon line. Instead, they’ll see lines like the Tyson Jost line which allows over 13 High-Danger Chances Against per 60 minutes at even-strength. It’s just a fantastic matchup at even-strength for this “A” DK value line, it the upside is increased as the Avs are 7th in Times Short-Handed on the year.
