Yet another 2-game NHL slate with the Penguins-Capitals at 7ET and Jets-Predators at 9:30 ET. As a reminder on these 2-game slates, I try to get away from the 4-3-1 format if possible in order to assure I get some lineup differentiation. NSH1: Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson ($16,500 DK/$20,800 FD)
“The Predators have the highest implied total on the night at home in Game-5 and they have been great these playoffs.”
This line (“A” DK value) has posted a 54.8 Corsi For Percentage, 30.3 Scoring Chances For per 60 minutes, and 14 High-Danger Chances For per 60 minutes. With Arvidsson and Forsberg among the playoff lead in shot attempts and chances, it’s easy to say this has been one of the best lines over the last 3 weeks. At home against the Scheifele line, which they had a lot of success against in Game-2, look for them to be swarming the offensive zone and racking up fantasy points.
PIT2: Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist ($16,500 DK/$18,700 FD)
“The reunited Penguins’ second line should get a favorable matchup on the road against the Ovechkin line with a near 3 team total.”
With the Backstrom line likely hard-matching the Penguins’ top line featuring Sidney Crosby, Hagelin, Malkin, and Hornqvist will get to spend a lot of time against WSH1, who had a lot of defensive issues in the regular season which continued in Game-4, getting outshot 21-9 and outchanced 11-1. With a somewhat healthy Malkin and a line that was great in the regular season (58.3 Corsi For Percentage, 17.3 High-Danger Chances For per 60 minutes), I’m hoping they get back to their regular season form in Game-5 on the road.
