NASCAR DFS: Chastain, Jones & Cindric Popping as Best GPP Picks for Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona (August 27)

The field has been set for this Sunday’s Coke 400 at Daytona for NASCAR’s fifth superspeedway race of the 2022 NASCAR Season. With Hendrick Motor Sports teammates Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson leading the charge to green on Saturday, let’s dive into the best NASCAR DFS picks today for tournament and GPP lineups.

NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today: Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona

NASCAR heads to Daytona for its second trip of the season for what will also be the cut-off race of regular season with the playoffs starting next week at Darlington. The name of the game at superspeedways is typically targeting drivers with place differential upside and mixing in potential race winners starting closer to the front. Dominator points aren’t as important with fast laps being completely unprojectable.

Ross Chastain $10,200 DraftKings / $12,000 FanDuel (12th)

Ross won’t carry as much ownership as some of the other drivers he is priced around this week, but he has been elite at superspeedways this year. Besides wrecking out of Daytona earlier in the season, he hasn’t finished worse than second place the three most recent trips. There is still enough place-differential upside here to make him a viable option.

Austin Cindric $8,500 DraftKings / $9,000 FanDuel (14th)

Cindric finds himself in no mans land as far as starting position is concerned where most people will not want to click on his name, despite him winning the Daytona 500 to start the season. We typically see the Penske cars run well and dominate at these track types and we get the rookie in a prime spot for tournaments.

William Byron $8,400 DraftKings / $10,500 FanDuel (17th)

With Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch grabbing most of the ownership mid-pack, Byron could go slightly overlooked, especially with how poorly he has been racing the past couple of months. He has led the most laps at superspeedways this year and when he isn’t wrecking, his finishes at superspeedways has actually been quite good.

Latest NASCAR DFS Content

Erik Jones $6,900 DraftKings / $7,000 FanDuel (11th)

The high starting spot is tough to swallow, but Jones has the third-best average running position in the series at these track types this year and could also make some noise for the playoff picture with a win under the lights on Saturday. He’s a former winner at Daytona and has had a lot of speed at these tracks.

Justin Haley $6,400 DraftKings / $5,000 FanDuel (18th)

Haley has quietly been a DFS darling at superspeedways as he is averaging the second most DraftKings points per race since 2019, only behind Corey Lajoie. Kaulig has legit race-winning upside at a track like this and Haley has flashed near top-five potential before. With his starting position compared to most in this price range, he should come in at lower ownership.
