Centers

Nathan MacKinnon (COL vs. NYI ) – DraftKings, $8,500; FanDuel, $8,800

MacKinnon is one of the best pivots in the league. He has a ton of speed and he plays downhill with aggression. He’s a nightly contender for the shot bonus, as he’s pretty much averaging said bonus over the last 10 games. He’s also tallied 82 points in 58 games and has a decent matchup tonight. The Islanders have the second-worst team Corsi in the league, and they are giving up the third-most high-danger chances in the league at five-on-five. If you’re stacking, keep an eye on lines. Last game, after Mikko Rantanen left with a broken collar bone, the Avalanche went with a top line of MacKinnon-Landeskog-Burakovsky. We need confirmation for tonight, though.

Tyler Seguin (DAL vs. ARZ) – DraftKings, $7,000; FanDuel, $7,600

Seguin had had a rough year shooting-wise. He’s shooting 5% on the year, but his volume is still plentiful, as he averages almost four shots per game. He lit the lamp last week and the proverbial monkey is off his back, it seems. He’s riding a four-game point streak with six points in that time. The Coyotes team defense falls off when the Taylor Hall line isn’t on the ice, which is good for Seguin because he’ll likely match up with the Nick Schmaltz line for the majority of the time while Joe Pavelski and company play more of the shutdown role. Alexander Radulov should be back tonight, so we need to keep an eye out for the possibilities of new lines. If the lines stay the way they were last game, I would only be interested in a one-off of Seguin or a possible combo with Roope Hintz. The Coyotes depth lines are allowing 36 shot attempts and 13 high-danger chances per 60 at five-on-five.

Adam Henrique (ANA vs. FLA ) – DraftKings, $4,800; FanDuel, $5,000

Henrique and the Ducks second line has been playing solid hockey lately. The trio has combined for seven points in the last three games. Florida comes to Anaheim desperate for points, losing six of their last eight. The Panthers have been dealing with a virus going around the locker room and have just sent Mike Matheson back to Miami for precautionary reasons due to illness. If you are looking for a cheaper filler stack, the Ducks third line should get a good bit of run against the Alexander Barkov line, which hasn’t been the tough matchup we are used to seeing. The Barkov line is allowing over 28 shots against per 60 and just over 12 high-danger chances. Henrique’s line has been a good possession line with a 56 CF%, creating 16 high-danger chances and 2.71 expected goals per 60 at even strength.

Wingers

Patrick Kane (CHI vs. NYR ) – DraftKings, $8,100; FanDuel, $8,100

The high end of the winger position is loaded today with no shortage of options. David Pastrnak figures into being the chalk, most likely followed by Kane. This game will have a ton of pace and plenty of scoring chances on both sides. The question is how much will the goaltending come into play? The Rangers and the Hawks are both in the bottom three of shots against, high-danger chances against and expected goals against. Kane has 13 points in the last 10 games while averaging just over four shots per game. He’s also a nightly contender for the shot bonus, as he’s hit it four times in the past 10 games. Kane should see the Mika Zibanejad line most of the night, which is the weaker defensive line and the better one to target. The Rangers have spent the fourth-most time short-handed and Kane is the trigger man on the extra-man advantage. Kane also will double shift at times if the Blackhawks need scoring, so stacking him with his power play line mates makes sense, as he’s been put alongside Jonathan Toews and Dominik Kubalik/Brandon Saad regularly.

Tyler Toffoli (VAN vs. MIN ) – DraftKings, $4,700; FanDuel, $5,600

Toffoli will play his first game as a Canuck tonight and he will play on the second line with Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller. That’s some good company to be in. Toffoli left the Kings playing strong hockey, averaging over four shots a game over the last 10 while tallying seven points. The Canucks second line was strong prior to Toffoli coming along and with his addition, it should only get stronger. Pettersson is a good facilitator and Toffoli should be able to continue his shot volume. The Wild are decent at limiting chances, but they are still bottom-10 in goals against per game. Minnesota goaltending has struggled mightily this year as well with a combined .897 save percentage. Finally, the Wild have a bottom-10 penalty kill, while allowing the sixth-most shots against and the second-most goals against per 60.

Defensemen

Adam Fox (NYR at CHI) – DraftKings, $4,500; FanDuel, $3,800

Fox assumed the top power play role when Tony DeAngelo went down to injury. Even if DeAngelo comes back, Fox will see power play time on the second unit at minimum. Over the last 10 games, Fox has averaged four shots/blocks per game to give him a solid floor. He’s also playing just under 22 minutes of ice time with his power play role. This game is going to have a plethora of scoring opportunities and targeting the top power plays is a decent priority.

Erik Gustafsson (CHI vs. NYR ) – DraftKings, $3,600; FanDuel, $4,500

On the opposite side of Fox, Gustafsson is an intriguing value play. He has had a down year in terms of stats and points, but his shot volume has started to rise recently and that’s a promising sign. He’s tallied six points in the last 10 games while averaging over 20 minutes of ice time. The main reason for going down to Gustafson is that he is playing on the top power play unit and he gets you exposure to Kane and Toews at a cheap price.

Stacks

BOS1: Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – David Pastrnak

The Bruins top line is lethal and they can pour goals in a hurry. The Oilers are going to try to keep Leon Draisaitl away from them, leaving the depth lines to get worked over. You can expect Boston to play downhill most of the night. The Oilers have been one of the most disciplined teams in the league penalty-wise, and their kill has been stout. But digging in a little deeper, they are giving up the ninth-most shots on the penalty kill and they are 18th in expected goals against.

NYR2: Jesper Fast – Ryan Strome – Artemi Panarin

The Rangers second line should see the Blackhawks top line tonight, and they will get plenty of good looks. Since moving Drake Caggiula to the top line, the trio is allowing 36 shots against per 60, 35 scoring chances and 16 high-danger chances. They also have an expected goals against of over three. Finally, the Rangers have the second-best expected goals on the power play. Artemi Panarin coming back to Chicago should bring good memories for him, and I have a feeling he’s going to light it up tonight.
