Arkansas barely survived in the Sweet 16 against Oral Roberts. In fact, they’ve barely survived the past two games, winning by a combined total of four points. They are one of the highest-scoring teams in the country. Yet, they have scored 72 and 68 in the past two games, thanks to 11.1% and 23.5% shooting from beyond the arc, respectively.
Baylor played one of its worst games of the season against Villanova. They also couldn’t hit from beyond the arc, shooting 3-for-19 from 3. Yet they rallied in the second half and won the game by 11 points. The Bears are athletic and should be able to bounce back from a poor offensive performance.
It would be surprising to see Baylor shoot that poorly two games in a row. They already showed their ability to win by double-digits against Villanova while playing badly. Against Arkansas, a team I do not believe belongs in the Elite Eight, the Bears may attempt to end the night in exciting fashion and make a statement. Most of all, if Arkansas gets up early, do not panic. It may even be a smart opportunity to live-bet the Bears to turn it on in the second half, like they did in the Sweet 16.
