Whether you are a pro making your own PGA betting picks or just getting into the game, betting on golf provides a great way to sweat the action. Like most other professional sports, there are plenty of ways you can bet on golf; with outright winners, head-to-head matchups and plenty more, golf betting offers a wide array of PGA odds and wagers. There will certainly be an edge to be found each and every week, and next up is the AT&T Pebble Beach.
Our PGA betting series consists of three articles:
- Outrights & Each Way (this one)
- Head-to-Head Matchups
- Jason’s Bet of the day (stole this idea from Awesemo’s own Ben Rasa): Normally in-tournament matchups.
[DAYTONA]
Before we dive headfirst into my foursome of picks for this week, I want to make sure that we define terms for those of you who are brand new.
Outright: A bet that is placed on a golfer to win the tournament.
Each Way: A bet that covers a golfer for the top-five, top-10 and top-20 bets offered.
Article Results (Four Picks Per Week)
16 Total Picks:
- Wins: 0
- Top-5’s: 2
- Top-10s: 4
- Top-20s: 9
Sungjae Im and Will Zalatoris’ top-20s couldn’t quite get us back to the black last week, shy by just $3. Return is holding steady above 15%.
PGA Betting Picks: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Daniel Berger
Outright: 14-1 | Top 5: 3-1 |Â Top 10: +150 | Top 20: -136
If the new trend of missed cut to PGA Tour win continues this week, I’ll put my odds on it being Daniel Berger over Jason Day and Rickie Fowler. At 14-1 — the second-highest number on the board — Berger is no secret this week, but I still think he represents a solid start to the card.

Brendan Steele
Outright: 55-1 |Â Top 5: 1-1 | Top 10: 5-1 | Top 20: 2-1
The consistency seems to be there for Steele early on, as he has racked up three straight made cuts and one top-five finish. That is good enough for me to see some value above 50-1 this week, especially down to the 2-1 on the top-20 given this strength of field.
Matthew NeSmith
Outright: 75-1 | Top 5: 14-1 | Top 10: 6-1 | Top 20: 3-1
When form looks good and there is a bit of history at the course to match it, it’s a pretty easy click for me. We just saw NeSmith tie for the lead after Round 1 last week, and he continued to play solidly throughout the weekend, earning a top-10. I expect the form to continue this week.
Bomb of the Week: Akshay Bhatia
Outright: 400-1 | Top 5: 70-1 | Top 10: 22-1 | Top 20: 10-1
There are four bombs this week that’ll I’ll sprinkle some cash on (Davis Riley, Will Gordon, Andy Ogletree). In terms of this article and picking just one, I went for the guy with the highest odds. Funny enough, Bhatia started the week at 600-1 and is now at 400-1. That affected the other each-way numbers as well. Still, if he hits, it’ll be a nice payday.
