Bears – Lions Game Info
Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions
Date: Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Venue: Ford Field — Detroit, MI
Coverage: FOX
In one of the most notable position battles of training camp, Nick Foles and Mitchell Trubisky competed for the starting quarterback job for the Bears. Ultimately, it appears Chicago was not ready to give up on Trubisky just yet, hoping he proves they didn’t make a drastic mistake in drafting him. He has had flashes of competency as a passer, so it’s possible the added competition brought the best out of Trubisky. However, we shouldn’t hold our breaths.Â
Luckily, this Chicago defense is the best unit in this game. They have play makers all over the field, but they will be highlighted by Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn up front. The Lions offensive line has been a unit of inconsistency for many seasons, which is why we continue to see Matthew Stafford get banged up. He missed the second half of last season, but he was tremendous when he played. With a strong group of skill players around him, this Lions offense is one to watch this season.Â
The game will come down to the Bears offense versus the Lions defense. Neither unit is particularly good. Chicago’s offensive line is weak and could mean more pressure placed on the shoulders of Trubisky. However, the Lions secondary is now without Darius Slay, and it is a lot to ask for them to keep up with Allen Robinson for a full game. The winner of these two units will decide the game.Â
