Second game in this Western Conference semis as the Nuggets look to rebound from a disappointing effort in game 1. Denver played a grueling series against Utah in the first round and it was not overly shocking to see them come out flat in that opening game. The Clippers controlled from start to finish and Denver must find ways to generate more offense.
Looking over the player props we have all sorts of situations to breakdown, but I am going to attack Jamal Murray’s point total once again as it sits at 23.5 in this game 2 matchup. Unlike game 1 where we shorted Murrays point total this time I am leaning over in this spot as I expect a much better showing from the Nuggets in general.
We knew that Murray could not keep up his ridiculous shooting from the Utah series, but he also will not be shooting 5-15 like we saw in game 1 too often. The positive takeaways from that Game 1 were that he took 15 shots in a blowout and still logged 33 minutes so in a competitive game the volume will be there. The Clippers certainly are a stout defense, but Murray should see a ton of minutes and usage, especially if the game remains close late.
Price wise we see +118 at DraftKings for this over which is the best price, and a price that is much different than what we see across other books. Some books have the over 23.5 points as the favorite so getting +118 is a steal if we think Murray gets going.
