Ryan Fitzpatrick Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns: -124 (DraftKings) Â
We get things started in Week 3 of the NFL with Thursday Night Football and a game between the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. This isn’t going to light the world on fire with two teams not expected to compete for much in 2020. Still, if they have any hope to make noise during this season these are the type of games you have to win against a gettable opponent. Currently Vegas has the Jaguars as a 3-point favorite at home with an over/under of 48.
There are a ton of props to choose from, but I am going to the Dolphins side of things with Ryan Fitzpatrick. His over/under on passing touchdowns sits at 1.5 with a slight lean to the over in the market. I like this position, and he is poised to do some damage against this poor Jacksonville secondary.
So far Fitzpatrick has been quiet, but there are some positive signs. The first obvious one is that he played the Patriots and Bills to open the season, both of whom have above average defenses and specifically secondaries. That may have impacted this line, and this is going to be by far the easiest matchup he has seen over the first three game. In addition, Miami still may be playing catchup so the volume should be there with this passing attack.
On the other side the Jaguars defense is going to struggle all year, and we’ve seen that so far this season. They did win in Week 1, but Philip Rivers still threw for 363 yards and last week Ryan Tannehill tore them apart with four passing touchdowns. That is going to be a common theme for opposing offenses as this secondary just doesn’t have the talent. With this prop around -124 across the industry, now is the time to buy. As we get closer to kickoff, this could actually trend upward given how good the opportunity is for Fitzpatrick tonight.
