We close out the Week 7 NFL Slate with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Rams. Both of these teams have their sights on the playoffs, and winning this game would go a long way to punching their ticket. Currently Vegas has the Rams as 6-point favorites at home with a total of 44.5. This doesn’t figure to be a shootout game, but both teams could find some success against above-average defenses.

For player props, I am going to the receptions market with Jimmy Graham’s catches. The line is just 2.5, and although we are laying significant juice at -155, I see this sitting upwards of -180 at some other books, and that is where I believe this line should be. We know that Chicago doesn’t have the most prolific passing attack, but that shouldn’t stop Graham from getting involved against this Rams defense.
First thing we like is that Chicago is expected to fall behind in this one, so they could and should be passing late in the game. Outside of Allen Robinson, who will draw the top coverage on the outside, there really isn’t anyone else who demands a massive target share, which sets up for Graham to contribute. He has seen a healthy 28 targets over the last four games, and I expect that type of volume to continue here. Losing Tarik Cohen has taken some of the receiving upside out of this backfield, and without a reliable No. 2 receiver, Graham is becoming a key contributor.
Although the Rams defense is a quality unit, they are just middle of the pack in defending tight ends, and regardless, I believe the Bears will have no choice but to get Graham involved. With a positive game script and an emerging role in the offense, there is no reason Graham shouldn’t eclipse this number. Laying -155 is something I rarely do in the prop market, but it is all about evaluating the chance of success versus the price you are paying. I expect this line to move higher and higher as we get closer to kickoff and am comfortable laying -155 on Graham to get over this total tonight.
