Kyle Lowry Under 9.5 Assists (-133, BetMGM)

While his scoring numbers have declined significantly from as recently as last season, Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry has still made an impact on his new team as a playmaker. The veteran enters Friday’s matchup averaging 8.3 assists per game. He also comes in off a five-game stretch in which he dished out double-digit assists on three occasions. Despite this, OddsShopper‘s projections are locked in on playing under 9.5 assists for Lowry as one of their best NBA betting picks of the night.

While the opponent Atlanta Hawks have been one of the worst scoring defenses of any team so far this season, part of the issue has been numerous players sidelined by injuries, COVID protocols or both. The Hawks should have the majority of their key pieces back for tonight’s game. Atlanta and Miami also both rank among the slowest teams in the league in pace. A slower tempo and fewer possessions will likely result in fewer opportunities for Lowry to assist. OddsShopper currently shows the NBA player props market is juiced to the under on this prop, thus agreeing with OddsShopper‘s outlook. Even at a -133 price, this prediction is still deemed to have a healthy 29% expected ROI.

Dejounte Murray Over 7.5 Rebounds (-105, PointsBet)

After dropping a monster 32-point, 10-rebound, 11-assist triple-double on Wednesday night, there is optimism that Dejounte Murray will be rejoined by his San Antonio Spurs running mate, Derrick White, for tonight’s game. A matchup against the stingy Cleveland Cavaliers defense figures to present greater challenges for Murray and the Spurs on the offensive end. However, OddsShopper still believes he is fully capable of exceeding the NBA player props line of 7.5 rebounds in tonight’s game. The prop total sits 0.7 boards lower than the 8.2 Murray has averaged on a per-game basis this season. Furthermore, since returning from his own COVID protocol absence, Murray has corralled at least nine rebounds in three of his five games played.

OddsShopper‘s projection of 8.19 rebounds for Murray tonight falls right in line with his season average coming in. Interestingly enough, OddsShopper shows some discrepancy across the NBA betting market when it comes to the odds for this prop. While all sportsbooks list the line at 7.5 boards, some are juiced to the over while others require bettors to pay up to play the under. The resulting optimal price on the over of -105 gives this prediction an expected ROI of 13%.

Marvin Bagley III Under 11.5 Points (+100, Caesars)

Former No. 2 overall draft pick Marvin Bagley III continues to largely be a disappointment for the Sacramento Kings. Even with starting center Richaun Holmes having missed the past several games due to COVID protocols, Bagley has failed to take advantage. His 16 points in the Kings’ most recent game marked only the second time in the last seven contests that he managed to score in double figures. With the possibility that Holmes will rejoin the lineup in a limited capacity tonight after practicing yesterday, Bagley could wind up seeing his minutes squeezed yet again, especially if he starts the game slowly. Add in the fact that he has only averaged 8.4 points per game on the season to date and OddsShopper is all over the under on his scoring prop of 11.5 this evening.

While the Kings should benefit from a favorable matchup against the Houston Rockets, trusting Bagley to see the playing time and shot attempts necessary to clear the NBA player props line is difficult to do. OddsShopper shows that the market is juiced quite heavily to the over. This is likely due to a combination of the matchup and Bagley’s strong showing on Wednesday. The resulting even-money odds only serve to boost the value OddsShopper perceives on the under. A projection of 9.91 points results in an 18% expected ROI at the favorable +100 price.
