Five of the seven first-round series in the playoffs have now been decided. Luckily, fans and bettors alike figure to get more than their money’s worth with the three matchups still going. Tonight there is a pair of Game 6 showdowns in the Western Conference. The nightcap features the defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Phoenix Suns and looking to stave off elimination. The appetizer is the Denver Nuggets vs. Portland Trail Blazers. We will go over all the best NBA odds tonight. Lakers superstar LeBron James highlights today’s featured NBA player props picks and predictions.
Yesterday’s NBA Player Props Recap
We were on three overs in yesterday’s NBA player props column. Two of the three recommended picks for Wednesday’s games wound up being comfortable wins. Seth Curry crushed the NBA betting line of 14.5 points, and Ivica Zubac did far more than exceed 4.5 total rebounds, finishing in the double digits. The only loss of the night was the article’s cover man, as Joe Ingles never scored and came up short on hitting 1.5 total 3-pointers. That said, two out of three works any day of the week, especially when there were plus-money odds on Curry.
NBA Betting Prediction: NBA Player Props | June 3
Monte Morris Over 4.5 Assists
Nikola Jokic came just a single assist shy of a triple-double in the Nuggets’ epic Game 5 double-overtime win on Tuesday. While Jokic led the charge to victory, he was not alone. Among the other Nuggets who had an outstanding performance in Game 5 was Monte Morris. Thrust into a larger role for the remainder of Denver’s season due to Jamal Murray’s season-ending knee injury, Morris has seen his minutes fluctuate heavily throughout this series. On Tuesday, he played 41 minutes and delivered in a big way, totaling 28 points, five assists and three rebounds. While replicating that scoring production tonight won’t be easy, the prospects of Morris again going over the NBA player props line of 4.5 total assists are intriguing.

Over the course of the entire season, Morris averaged 3.2 assists per game in just over 25 minutes. With both Murray and Will Barton sidelined, the Nuggets have had to make on-the-fly adjustments in the backcourt. After taking a backseat to Facundo Campazzo early on in this series, Morris has assumed the top duties at point guard. Despite not playing more than 30 minutes in any game prior to Tuesday, Morris has now dished at least five assists four times this postseason. The Trail Blazers figure to battle back in Game 6 on their home floor tonight. With Jokic being their primary focus defensively, look for Morris to once again play a key role in the offense.
LeBron James Under 9.5 Rebounds
If there’s anyone known for putting up heroic numbers in must-win games, it’s LeBron. Down 3-2, Los Angeles is tasked with forcing a Game 7 against the Suns back in Phoenix. What remains unknown is whether or not Anthony Davis will be able to help the cause. After missing Game 5 with a groin injury sustained in Game 4, Davis is listed as a game-time decision for tonight. With or without Davis in the lineup, the under on 9.5 total rebounds for James is a strong pick.
Tonight’s line has moved higher than where it has been for James throughout this series. Although -127 juice is required to bet the under, the Awesemo NBA Player Props Tool is not shying away. James has only exceeded 9.5 boards once in the first five games of this series. After grabbing 12 in Game 4, he was right back down to just five in Tuesday’s blowout loss. The Lakers have other capable rebounders aside from James. It has been made clear that crashing the glass is not his primary focus. Furthermore, the betting line is nearly two whole rebounds more than the 7.7 James averaged during the season. Under is the decisive call here.
Dennis Schroder Over 3.5 Assists
If the Lakers are going to fend off elimination and force a Game 7, Schroder has to play a whole lot better than he did in Games 4 and 5. After a disappointing stat line of just 8 points, four rebounds and three assists in the last game of this series at STAPLES Center, Schroder laid an 0-for-9 shooting dud and had a single assist in Game 5 on Tuesday. For a player who averaged 5.8 assists per game over the course of the season, these last two games have been complete head scratchers. As a result, the NBA player props betting market has dropped his assist total down to 3.5 ahead of Game 6 tonight. That said, positive regression seems to be inevitable for a player this talented. Look for Schroder to revert to the stellar form he displayed over the first three games.
