Bucks vs. Hawks NBA Betting Preview: Picks & Odds

Hawks vs. Bucks Game Info

Milwaukee Bucks (46-26, 20-16 Away) vs. Atlanta Hawks (46-26, 25-11 Home)
Date: Sunday, June 27, 2021
Time: 8:30 pm EST
Venue: State Farm Arena – Atlanta, Ga.
Coverage: TNT

Game 2 was never really close. The Bucks followed up a 34-point first quarter with a 43-point second quarter, taking a 32-point lead into the break. This led to the Bucks starters getting some much-needed rest. The only player to see over 30 minutes of playing time was Jrue Holiday, who finished with 22 points and seven assists in 32 minutes. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored an efficient 25 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists in only 29 minutes. Brook Lopez was on fire from deep, while Khris Middleton continues to struggle from long range.

While the Bucks’ offensive performances were impressive, the job Holiday did on Trae Young should also be noted. Playing only 28 minutes, Young scored 15 points and shot 1-for-8 from 3-point range. The only other starter in double digits was John Collins, who scored 11 points. With Bogdan Bogdanovic limited with a knee injury, the pressure is on Young to play like an MVP. However, the Bucks’ defense also has all eyes on him, knowing that stopping him will make it tough for Atlanta to score any points. This is why Milwaukee is again the favorite today.

Bucks vs. Hawks NBA Betting Picks + Prediction

The Bucks match up really well with the Hawks. Talent-wise, this series should have been a sweep. However, the Bucks’ inconsistencies and lack of discipline from the top down leave the door open for their opponents, as shown in Game 1. That said, the Hawks continue to get more worn down, and there’s too much pressure placed on Young to do essentially everything right now.

With the spread for the Bucks cut in half this game, I’m siding with them.

Prediction: Bucks -4 (BetMGM)
