Bucks – Heat Game Info

Milwaukee Bucks (56-17) vs. Miami Heat (44-29)
Date: Friday, Sept. 4, 2020
Time: 6:30 p.m. ET
Venue: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex – Kissimmee, FL
Coverage: TNT

After being the top regular season team in the league, the Bucks find themselves down two games to start this series, whether it’s due to a blown call or not. When looking at the stats in Game 2, you may think the Bucks would have come away with the win. They shot more free throws than the Heat, while also making them at a higher percentage. Milwaukee was also a whopping +10 in offensive rebounds.

Ultimately, the Bucks’ biggest weakness in the game is what they have struggled with all season long, and that’s defending the 3-point shot. The Heat made 17 from long range, converting on 37.8% of those shots. While these aren’t mind-blowing numbers, they are solid ones. More importantly, it’s better than the 28% from deep that the Bucks shot.

Miami took a balanced offensive approach in Game 2. Their leader, Jimmy Butler, attempted only eight shots in the game. Goran Dragic ended up being the leading scorer, with 23 points. However, seven different Heat players scored in double digits, and their 36 bench points made a big difference in the game.

One would think the Bucks again will come out aggressively. They dominated the boards, which is typically the recipe for success. If you want to buy into the narrative that the refs have an agenda in the NBA, they may be leaning in favor of Milwaukee tonight. They definitely want these series to go as many games as possible after losing out on so much other money earlier. Still, the refs cannot control the ball going through the net, and Miami has been very sharp.
