After suffering numerous injuries and losing by 43 points in Game 5, no team needed the extra rest more than Dallas. Not only did they need the time to game plan without one of their stars, they have numerous other roles players, who are being asked to start, dealing with injuries. While they are still questionable for this afternoon’s game, we can assume they will all be in. However, will it be enough?
Dallas defeated the Clippers in Game 4 without Porzingis in the lineup. However, it took overtime, and both a 43-point triple-double and a buzzer-beating shot from Doncic to win the game. On top of that, Paul George was playing terribly.
Last time out, George was finally able to find his shot, and it led to the Clippers looking unstoppable. He shot 12-of-18 for 35 points, which led all scorers. If the Clippers get even slightly above average play from George, they will be tough to beat, due to their depth and how consistent Kawhi Leonard has been. While the extra time off has benefited Dallas greatly, reports say that the Clippers got even closer as a team because of the social issues, likely in part due to the stand coach Doc Rivers made. If this is true, the Western Conference should be worried.

Kawhi Leonard – Points: Over 31.5 (-104)
After getting load management rest all season long, the extra break surely helped Leonard’s body recover a bit. He should come out aggressive today, motivated to end this series. No matter the game script against Dallas, Leonard has been able to get his. He has scored 32 points or more in all but one game of this series, and the one game he failed to do so was a 29-point outing in Game 1. Even in their 43-point win last game, the Clippers star scored 32 points in 30 minutes. Since the Clippers have lost a sizable lead against the Mavericks previously this series, Rivers will be more wiling to play his stars a few extra minutes to ensure the game gets put away. That’s what makes Leonard safe to put up a high point total today, hopefully hitting the over yet again.
Tim Hardaway Jr. – Made Threes Over 2.5 (-180)
With Porzingis out, the Mavericks need Hardaway to shoot and take some pressure off of Doncic. Overall, he has done a solid job at that in the series. He has attempted at least seven 3-pointers in every game, as well as made at least three in every outing. Hardaway made three in 25 minutes last game, and it should be a safe bet that he plays more than 25 minutes today, no matter what the game script is.
Ivica Zubac – PTS+REB: Over 17.5 (-102)
Zubac has averaged 6.2 rebounds per game this series, so we are asking him to score double digits for this over to hit. He scored in double digits in three of the first four games of the series, averaging 10.75 points over these four games but scoring 15 points twice. Last game, he totaled just nine points even though he made all his shots. Instead, the issue was usage, which was just 9.9%. This is far below his average of 13.7 for the entire series. I assume this coincided with the team feeding George to fuel his confidence and get him out of his rut. I don’t expect George to have a 38.9% usage rate again, so look for that to come down and benefit Zubac, helping him reach this over.
