The defensive efforts of Kawhi Leonard came through on a big stage yet again. With less than two minutes left in the game, Leonard met Jamal Murray at the rim and blocked his dunk with one finger. While Murray is not known for his power dunks, this was an impressive effort. Also, Murray should probably get in the gym.
Leonard contributed everywhere to help his team get the win. He totaled 23 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and two blocks. However, it was Paul George showing up to play that elevated this team to a win. He put up 32 points of his own on 12-of-18 shooting. The Clippers shot 54.7% from the field, adding another game in which the Nuggets could not stop their opponent from scoring.
Denver kept the game competitive though, leading at the start of the fourth quarter. The Nuggets shot 46.8% from the field themselves. Nikola Jokic continued to be unstoppable, with two assists shy of a 30-point triple-double. Michael Porter Jr. production off the bench proved to be huge in this game, putting up a 18-point double-double of his own.
The Nuggets are holding their own better than many had predicted, so we will see if they can continue to do so today.
