2. Detroit Lions – Aidan Hutchinson (Edge)
With Walker coming off the board number one, the Detroit Lions stick with the hometown kid in Aidan Hutchinson. Defensive-oriented coach Lovie Smith fills a massive need on one of the NFL’s weakest defensive lines.

While only 6-foot-0, 183 pounds, Wilson logged a 4.38 40-yard dash and produced elite numbers from the moment he stepped on the field with the Buckeyes.

Rarely tested on the football field, Sauce Gardner‘s lack of production speaks to his skill. Opposing offenses simply chose to avoid Gardner’s coverage at all costs. Gardner is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with elite 4.41 speed. He never allowed a touchdown in college and potentially fills a need to the Giants in the secondary.

After tearing his ACL in the College Football Playoff, many believed Jameson Williams would miss most of his rookie year. However, he appears ahead of schedule. Williams brings legitimate speed and racked up 1,572 yards on 79 catches this year. Atlanta continues their rebuild with Williams as the heir apparent to Calvin Ridley.

Seattle has many needs after trading away Russell Wilson. While some may point to the offense, this edge group is also among the weakest in the NFL. Johnson also logged at 4.58 40-yard dash and took home ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors in this conference.

Washington already traded for Carson Wentz, and now they need to surround him with weapons alongside Terry McLaurin. USC’s Drake London provides a solid complement. Davis never had a full of allotment snaps at Georgia, but he never needed to. He is a tools-based prospect and makes sense for a Minnesota defense lacking on the interior.

13. Houston Texans – Chris Olave (WR)
The wide receiver run continues with Ohio State’s Chris Olave. The Texans signed Brandin Cooks and recently drafted Nico Collins, but they must continue to surround second-year quarterback Davis Mills with weapons. Cooks provides the speed, and Collins profiles more as an X receiver. Olave provides the best route running in this class and immediately provides Mills with strong separation.

Mississippi State’s Charles Cross falls a bit here after the run on wide receivers. Cross played for Mike Leach’s air raid system and provides elite size at the position. Baltimore doesn’t necessarily pass at the highest rate, but they grab the best available lineman here to continue protecting Lamar Jackson.

There is a legitimate chance that five receivers come off the board in the top 15 with a shortage at the position. Burks is 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, and racked up 66 catches for 1,104 yards last year. He didn’t test as well as some expected, but college GPS tracking data squashes any speed concerns.

16. New Orleans Saints – Trevor Penning (OT)
After missing out on the receiver run, the New Orleans Saints now must find a different way to bolster their offense. In this mock, they grab the best offensive lineman available in Northern Iowa’s Trevor Penning. Penning is 6-foot-7, 325 pounds, and ran a 4.89 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. After a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, Penning squashed any level of competition concerns. Penning also fills the void left by Terron Armstead in free agency.

17. Los Angeles Chargers – Bernhard Raimann (OT)

As a converted tight end, Raimann’s athleticism is elite, and he has the potential to add weight and grow into the position as his transition continues.

Philadelphia has struggled with depth along the offensive line at times over the past few years, and Johnson provides immediate help.

For their second pick of the first round, the Saints have widely been mocked quarterback. Karlaftis racked up 14.5 sacks and 30.5 tackles for loss in his career with the Boilermakers, and he provides juice to a unit with an aging Cameron Jordan.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers – Malik Willis (QB)
While the quarterback position lacks any elite prospects, the positional value likely thrusts at least two into the first round. The Steelers often ignore analytics and conventional wisdom, and they follow that trend here and select Liberty quarterback Malik Willis. Willis is an elite athlete, but he struggled to produce as a passer against a weak level of competition. He will be drafted solely on positional value and upside for the Steelers.

21. New England Patriots – Tyler Smith (OL)
After grabbing their quarterback of the future last year, the Patriots could desperately use a receiver. While they could reach here, the big five are already gone. In what appears to be a deep class, they again kick that position to the later rounds and instead bolster the offensive line with Tyler Smith. Smith doesn’t quite have ideal size at 6-foot-5, 324 pounds, but the Patriots have drafted undersized linemen before (Isaiah Wynn). Smith was very productive in college and could play inside or out for a Patriots team always looking to bolster offensive line.

22. Green Bay Packers – Skyy Moore (WR)
With receivers expected to be drafted early and often, the market could push up players like Skyy Moore. The Eagles, Saints and Patriots all need receiver help, so Moore’s chances of coming off the board in the first round continue to climb. He is 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, and ran a 4.41 40-yard dash. Moore logged 2,482 yards receiving in his career and provides immediate help to one of the worst receiving rooms in football post Davante Adams.

23. Arizona Cardinals – Kyle Hamilton (S)
A major faller in this particular mock draft, Notre Dame’s Kyle Hamilton heads to Arizona to complement Budda Baker. Hamilton came into the process as borderline top-five prospect. However, poor testing numbers, a strong safety class and the devalued position as a whole could push him down draft boards.

The Buffalo Bills bring back a complete roster here and have the luxury of making a pick geared towards the future. While multiple sources believe Breece Hall could be the pick, it is unlikely that the analytically driven Bills select a devalued position. Instead, they select of position of incredible importance with Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth. Booth has some injury concerns and did not test during the predraft process. However, he is 6-feet, 194 pounds with elite production across two seasons starting for Clemson.

26. Tennessee Titans – Kenny Pickett (QB)

28. Green Bay Packers – Devin Lloyd (LB)
Devin Lloyd comes off the board to Green Bay. Lloyd plays a devalued position, but his production makes him potentially worth a much higher pick. As a senior, Lloyd notched 22 tackles for loss, eight sacks, 10 passes defended and four interceptions. He also ran a 4.66 40-yard dash at 237 pounds.

A riser in the draft process, Mafe makes sense here.

32. Detroit Lions – Christian Watson (WR)
The Lions are widely reported to be considering quarterback here, but the talent simply isn’t worth a first-round pick at this point in the draft. Playing at a run-first FCS school, Watson doesn’t have the same production as others in this class. However, the rare athleticism is worth betting on here.
