Matt G’s 2022 Prop-Based NFL Mock Draft | Betting Picks for EVERY SELECTION

With the 2022 NFL Draft quickly approaching, the prop betting market continues to expand. With bets of every variety available to the public, this particular mock draft will feature a wager at every position. Let’s go over our 2022 NFL mock draft picks and predictions with the best betting picks for every player each position.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Picks, Props, Predictions & Best Bets

1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Travon Walker (DL)

Utilized across the defensive line on Georgia’s National Championship winning defense, Travon Walker brings an ideal blend of production and size-adjusted athleticism. He ran a 4.51 40-yard dash at 6-foot-5, 272 pounds. General manager Trent Baalke has a history of drafting tools-based prospects, making him an interesting fit for the Jaguars.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Travon Walker No. 1 Pick (+190)

2. Detroit Lions – Aidan Hutchinson (Edge)

With Walker coming off the board number one, the Detroit Lions stick with the hometown kid in Aidan Hutchinson. After an injury-riddled 2020, Hutchinson emerged as one of the best pure pass rushers this year. The Lions ranked bottom three in sacks and Hutchinson racked up 14 in his final season with Michigan.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Aidan Hutchinson No. 2 Pick (+225)

3. Houston Texans – Kayvon Thibodeaux (Edge)

A team with needs at almost every position, the Texans take the best remaining talent in Kayvon Thibodeaux. While some question his character, Thibodeaux generated consistent pressure in the Pac-12. Defensive-oriented coach Lovie Smith fills a massive need on one of the NFL’s weakest defensive lines.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Kayvon Thibodeaux No. 3 Pick (+700)

4. New York Jets – Garrett Wilson (WR)

With receivers continuing to earn astronomical money on the open market, the position is expected to come off the board early and often. The Jets add another weapon for second-year quarterback Zach Wilson with Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson. While only 6-foot-0, 183 pounds, Wilson logged a 4.38 40-yard dash and produced elite numbers from the moment he stepped on the field with the Buckeyes.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Garrett Wilson First Wide Receiver Selected (+110)

5. New York Giants – Evan Neal (OT)

A multi-year starter at Alabama, Evan Neal stands 6-foot-8, 337 pounds with 34-inch arms. Neal did not test but plays well for his size. The Giants must continue to build around Daniel Jones, and that starts with bolstering a porous offensive line.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Evan Neal First OL Selected (+150)

6. Carolina Panthers – Ikem Ekwonu (OT)

Carolina allegedly wants to trade down to acquire more draft capital. However, if stuck here, the Panthers could continue to build their offensive line. They clearly need a quarterback, but the value doesn’t make sense here. Instead, they add one of the better pass protectors in this class in North Carolina State’s Ikem Ekwonu.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Ikem Ekwonu Over 4.5 (-125)

7. New York Giants – Sauce Gardner (CB)

Rarely tested on the football field, Sauce Gardner‘s lack of production speaks to his skill. Opposing offenses simply chose to avoid Gardner’s coverage at all costs. Gardner is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with elite 4.41 speed. He never allowed a touchdown in college and potentially fills a need to the Giants in the secondary.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Sauce Gardner Over 5.5 (-105)

8. Atlanta Falcons – Jameson Williams (WR)

After tearing his ACL in the College Football Playoff, many believed Jameson Williams would miss most of his rookie year. However, he appears ahead of schedule. Williams brings legitimate speed and racked up 1,572 yards on 79 catches this year. Atlanta continues their rebuild with Williams as the heir apparent to Calvin Ridley.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Jameson Williams Top 10 Pick (+125)

9. Seattle Seahawks – Jermaine Johnson (Edge)

Seattle has many needs after trading away Russell Wilson. While some may point to the offense, this edge group is also among the weakest in the NFL. Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson fills an immediate need after logging 12 sacks at 6-foot-5, 254 pounds. Johnson also logged at 4.58 40-yard dash and took home ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors in this conference.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Jermaine Johnson Under 9.5 (-115)

10. New York Jets – Derek Stingley (CB)

Perhaps the biggest wild card in the entire first round, LSU’s Derek Stingley comes off the board to the Jets. Stingley fills an immediate need in one of the worst secondaries in football. While the injury history is concerning, Stingley ran a 4.44 40-yard dash at his pro day. With this athleticism and his rare production as a freshman, Stingley’s talent is worth betting on here.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Derek Stingley Over 9.5 (+110)

11. Washington Commanders – Drake London (WR)

Washington already traded for Carson Wentz, and now they need to surround him with weapons alongside Terry McLaurin. USC’s Drake London provides a solid complement. London is a former basketball player and is 6-foot-4, 219 pounds. He did not test due to a broken ankle, but his 1,084 yards receiving in eight games this year ranks in the elite territory.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Drake London First Wide Receiver (+250)

12. Minnesota Vikings – Jordan Davis (DL)

Arguably the most athletic human to ever enter the NFL, Georgia’s Jordan Davis logged a 4.78 40-yard dash and 32-inch vertical jump at 6-foot-6, 341 pounds. Davis never had a full of allotment snaps at Georgia, but he never needed to. He is a tools-based prospect and makes sense for a Minnesota defense lacking on the interior.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Jordan Davis Under 15.5 (-115)

13. Houston Texans – Chris Olave (WR)

The wide receiver run continues with Ohio State’s Chris Olave. The Texans signed Brandin Cooks and recently drafted Nico Collins, but they must continue to surround second-year quarterback Davis Mills with weapons. Cooks provides the speed, and Collins profiles more as an X receiver. Olave provides the best route running in this class and immediately provides Mills with strong separation.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Chris Olave Under 16.5 (-125)

14. Baltimore Ravens – Charles Cross (OT)

Mississippi State’s Charles Cross falls a bit here after the run on wide receivers. The tackle market is volatile this year, and there’s a slight chance that he will actually come off the board prior to Ekwonu and Neal due to his pass-protecting experience. Cross played for Mike Leach’s air raid system and provides elite size at the position. Baltimore doesn’t necessarily pass at the highest rate, but they grab the best available lineman here to continue protecting Lamar Jackson.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Charles Cross Over 7.5 (-125)

15. Philadelphia Eagles – Treylon Burks (WR)

There is a legitimate chance that five receivers come off the board in the top 15 with a shortage at the position. Arkansas’ Treylon Burks provides a solid complement to the Eagles and now rounds out a wide receiver room that includes three first-round picks. Burks is 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, and racked up 66 catches for 1,104 yards last year. He didn’t test as well as some expected, but college GPS tracking data squashes any speed concerns.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Treylon Burks Under 23.5 (-120)

16. New Orleans Saints – Trevor Penning (OT)

After missing out on the receiver run, the New Orleans Saints now must find a different way to bolster their offense. In this mock, they grab the best offensive lineman available in Northern Iowa’s Trevor Penning. Penning is 6-foot-7, 325 pounds, and ran a 4.89 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. After a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, Penning squashed any level of competition concerns. Penning also fills the void left by Terron Armstead in free agency.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Trevor Penning Under 16.5 (-150)

17. Los Angeles Chargers – Bernhard Raimann (OT)

After stealing Rashawn Slater last year, the Chargers continue to protect Justin Herbert by drafting Bernhard Raimann. Raimann is 6-foot-6, 303 pounds, and dominated competition at Central Michigan. As a converted tight end, Raimann’s athleticism is elite, and he has the potential to add weight and grow into the position as his transition continues.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Bernhard Raimann Under 37.5 (-115)

18. Philadelphia Eagles – Zion Johnson (iOL)

After grabbing one of the elite wide receiver prospects, the Eagles continue to build their offense with Boston College prospect Zion Johnson. Johnson is 6-foot-3, 312 pounds, and started 49 career games with Boston College. Philadelphia has struggled with depth along the offensive line at times over the past few years, and Johnson provides immediate help.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Zion Johnson Under 24.5 (-125)

19. New Orleans Saints – George Karlaftis (Edge)

For their second pick of the first round, the Saints have widely been mocked quarterback. While the position makes sense from a value perspective, Jameis Winston is simply a better player than any of these fringe players. Instead, they bolster the edge with Purdue’s George Karlaftis. Karlaftis racked up 14.5 sacks and 30.5 tackles for loss in his career with the Boilermakers, and he provides juice to a unit with an aging Cameron Jordan.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: George Karlaftis Under 19.5 (+115)

20. Pittsburgh Steelers – Malik Willis (QB)

While the quarterback position lacks any elite prospects, the positional value likely thrusts at least two into the first round. The Steelers often ignore analytics and conventional wisdom, and they follow that trend here and select Liberty quarterback Malik Willis. Willis is an elite athlete, but he struggled to produce as a passer against a weak level of competition. He will be drafted solely on positional value and upside for the Steelers.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Malik Willis Over 10.5 (-130)

21. New England Patriots – Tyler Smith (OL)

After grabbing their quarterback of the future last year, the Patriots could desperately use a receiver. While they could reach here, the big five are already gone. In what appears to be a deep class, they again kick that position to the later rounds and instead bolster the offensive line with Tyler Smith. Smith doesn’t quite have ideal size at 6-foot-5, 324 pounds, but the Patriots have drafted undersized linemen before (Isaiah Wynn). Smith was very productive in college and could play inside or out for a Patriots team always looking to bolster offensive line.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Tyler Smith Under 33.5 (-115)

22. Green Bay Packers – Skyy Moore (WR)

With receivers expected to be drafted early and often, the market could push up players like Skyy Moore. The Eagles, Saints and Patriots all need receiver help, so Moore’s chances of coming off the board in the first round continue to climb. He is 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, and ran a 4.41 40-yard dash. Moore logged 2,482 yards receiving in his career and provides immediate help to one of the worst receiving rooms in football post Davante Adams.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Skyy Moore Under 34.5 (-105)

23. Arizona Cardinals – Kyle Hamilton (S)

A major faller in this particular mock draft, Notre Dame’s Kyle Hamilton heads to Arizona to complement Budda Baker. Hamilton came into the process as borderline top-five prospect. However, poor testing numbers, a strong safety class and the devalued position as a whole could push him down draft boards.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Kyle Hamilton Over 10.5 (-175)

24. Dallas Cowboys – Kenyon Green (iOL)

Once the best offensive line in football, the Cowboys now have multiple positions of need along their front. Texas A&M’s Kenyon Green looks like a plug-and-play starter. Green is 6-foot-4, 323 pounds, and started for three straight years in the SEC.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Kenyon Green Under 27.5 (-115)

25. Buffalo Bills – Andrew Booth (CB)

The Buffalo Bills bring back a complete roster here and have the luxury of making a pick geared towards the future. While multiple sources believe Breece Hall could be the pick, it is unlikely that the analytically driven Bills select a devalued position. Instead, they select of position of incredible importance with Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth. Booth has some injury concerns and did not test during the predraft process. However, he is 6-feet, 194 pounds with elite production across two seasons starting for Clemson.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Andrew Booth Under 28.5 (+125)

26. Tennessee Titans – Kenny Pickett (QB)

The Titans are a wild card to select a quarterback this year, and they take Kenny Pickett here. Pickett showed incredible development as a one-year wonder in his final year with Pittsburgh. The Titans can save a lot of money at the quarterback position by moving on from Ryan Tannehill next season.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Kenny Pickett Over 12.5 (-145)

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Devonte Wyatt (DL)

The third Georgia defensive lineman to come off the board, Devonte Wyatt slides in alongside Vita Vea for Tampa Bay. Wyatt is 6-foot-3, 304 pounds, and ran a 4.77 40-yard dash. Wyatt was overshadowed by his teammate and enters the NFL with elite production and athleticism.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Devonte Wyatt Over 29.5 (-115)

28. Green Bay Packers – Devin Lloyd (LB)

Devin Lloyd comes off the board to Green Bay. Lloyd plays a devalued position, but his production makes him potentially worth a much higher pick. As a senior, Lloyd notched 22 tackles for loss, eight sacks, 10 passes defended and four interceptions. He also ran a 4.66 40-yard dash at 237 pounds.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Devin Lloyd Over 19.5 (-125)

29. Kansas City Chiefs – Jahan Dotson (WR)

The Chiefs prioritize the wide receiver by selecting Jahan Dotson out of Penn State. Dotson is 5-foot-11, 178 pounds, and ran a 4.43 40-yard dash. While his speed still falls short of Tyreek Hill‘s, Dotson provides an immediate replacement to offense.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Jahan Dotson Under 31.5 (-130)

30. Kansas City Chiefs – Trent McDuffie (CB)

Trent McDuffie checked in smaller and less athletic than expected. He is 5-foot-11, 193 pounds, and only ran a 4.44 40-yard dash. He also has short arms, so McDuffie won’t be a fit for every team. However, the Chiefs draft a highly productive, sliding player here.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Trent McDuffie Over 17.5 (+115)

31. Cincinnati Bengals – Boye Mafe (Edge)

Cincinnati still needs offensive line help, but free agency helped bandage that need. With most of the elite offensive line talent gone, the Bengals bolster their defensive line with Minnesota edge Boye Mafe. Mafe is 6-foot-4, 261 pounds, and ran a 4.53 40-yard dash. A riser in the draft process, Mafe makes sense here.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Boye Mafe Under 31.5 (-130)

32. Detroit Lions – Christian Watson (WR)

The Lions are widely reported to be considering quarterback here, but the talent simply isn’t worth a first-round pick at this point in the draft. Instead, the Lions continue to add receiver help with North Dakota State’s Christian Watson. Watson is 6-foot-4, 208 pounds, and ran a 4.36 40-yard dash. Playing at a run-first FCS school, Watson doesn’t have the same production as others in this class. However, the rare athleticism is worth betting on here.

2022 NFL Mock Draft Best Bet: Total 1st Round WRs Over 6.5 (-105)
