UFC Betting Picks & Prop Bets: UFC Vegas 32

Sijara Eubanks +450 by Submission (William Hill)

In the women’s flyweight division Sijara Eubanks takes on new-comer and late replacement Elise Reed as a -350 favorite. Typically fighting at 135 pounds, Eubanks will be making the cut to 125 this time out. Conversely, Reed will be fighting up after historically competing at 115 pounds. This immediately gives Eubanks significant size advantages on top of her distinct edge in strength of schedule. She is 6-6 in her professional career, but she has taken on some of the top competition in women’s MMA. Conversely, Reed is a perfect 4-0 but against non-UFC level fighters. As for the submission prop, Eubanks historically fights to decisions. Ten of her 12 professional fights went to decision. However, she has a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and lands 1.88 takedowns on average. Reed does not have a sample size in the UFC, but she is labeled as a striker. She looks decent in wrestling exchanges on the regional scene, but she has yet to face a fighter of Eubanks’ caliber. With the submission prop coming at +450, even a small wager on Eubanks brings the potential for a hefty payoff.

Kyler Phillips +400 by KO (BetMGM)

Kyler Phillip will look to continue his four-fight winning streak over replacement fighter Raulian Paiva. In addition to fighting on somewhat short notice, Paiva will be jumping a weight class after a horrific weight cut at 125 pounds earlier this year. Paiva is on a two-fight winning streak after defeating Mark De La Rosa and Zhalgas Zhumagulov in a controversial decision. Phillips has one of the more well-rounded skillsets in the bantamweight division. Landing 5.32 significant strikes per minute, Phillips recently out-struck Song Yadong. He lands 2.88 takedowns per bout with 63% takedown accuracy. He also has a background in judo and jiu-jitsu. On the feet Paiva is a decent striker but has a negative striking ratio of 4.46 significant strikes landed to 4.89 significant strikes absorbed against lesser competition. He has also shown weaknesses on the mat despite 80% takedown defense, and Zhumagulov, Rogerio Bontorin and Kai Kara-France all took him down multiple times. This opens a potential ground-and-pound approach from Phillips as well. With multiple paths to a knockout, grabbing a -275 fighter at +400 for a knockout is a complete steal.

Cory Sandhagen +140 by KO (BetMGM)

Cory Sandhagen battles T.J. Dillashaw in UFC Vegas 32’s main event. Dillashaw’s most recent bout in 2019 ended in a knockout loss at the hands of Henry Cejudo. He is still 12-4 in the UFC but fought the best of the best along the way. On the other side, Sandhagen’s only loss in the UFC came to current champion Aljamain Sterling. Both accomplished strikers, Sandhagen looks to have the advantage here. He lands 6.85 significant strikes per minute and has legitimate power. Sandhagen has six wins via knockout, and Dillashaw’s only two finish losses occurred via knockout. Sandhagen also has a five-inch height and three-inch reach advantage over Dillashaw. Both fighters are aggressive with takedowns, but neither has spent much time getting controlled. With excellent scrambling ability on both sides, a majority of this fight should play out on the feet. Dillashaw is coming off a two-year PED suspension, so Sandhagen’s knockout odds at +140 are a sharp bet here.
