Golf Betting: The Masters PGA Picks Foursome | Long Shot + Value Bets

Jason Rouslin

Jason Rouslin's golf betting picks for The Masters at Augusta, breaking down PGA odds and best long shot bets, including Francesco Molinari.

With one of the strongest fields in golf assembled in Augusta this week, and with two golfers currently going off at single-digit odds, some value opportunities have been created down the golf betting board. Even if you are brand new to sports betting, or golf betting more specifically, betting a golfer to win isn’t the only wager you can make on a player. There are a variety of options you can choose from, including Top-5s, Top-10s, Top-20s, make the cut and more. So in this article, I’m going to go over my foursome of long-shot golf betting picks and their PGA odds for The Masters.

The Masters

Making only his second start since February, this incredibly talented Italian has been in the midst of a move to California. Even amid the pandemic, Molinari thought it was best to relocate here to the U.S. This prevented him from making any starts prior to the Shriners a few weeks ago. There, he struggled a bit on and around the green, showing some rust, but his ball-striking looked strong. Ultimately, he missed the cut. Last week he put together a good short-game performance on the faster, harder greens and continued his good ball-striking, which resulted in a tie for 13th. All of this has cut his odds almost in half from what they were last week, but 110/1 to for a guy that came in fifth just last year still presents decent value.

Now, onto his other sets of odds, including a Top-5, Top-10 and Top-20 finish. Check out the list below for the best value provided by OddsShopper.

  • Top-5: 16/1 all sites
  • Top-10: 7.5/1 all sites except PointsBet
  • Top-20: 3/1 all sites except PointsBet

It feels like yesterday that Poulter was attempting to get into this tournament via the Houston Open, dueling with Beau Hossler. Obviously, Poulter came out victorious and has been able to play in this tournament since. He has two Top-20s and one Top-1o in four tries. Both FanDuel and PointsBet are offering Poutler at 150/1 to win this week.

Now, onto his other sets of odds, including a Top-5, Top-10 and Top-20 finish. Check out the list below for the best value provided by OddsShopper.

  • Top-5: 18/1 on both PointsBet and BetMGM
  • Top-10: 8/1 on PointsBet
  • Top-20: 3/1 all sites

PGA Odds: Priced at 200/1 or Greater

PGA Pick: J.T.  Poston

  • Masters Form: N/A
  • Recent Form: 20,51,27,3

The only first-time participant on this list, Poston had a nice tune-up last week at the Houston Open. Known for his putting prowess, he’ll have to tame these Augusta greens, which are never easy to do the first time playing here. But, the fact that he already happens to be one of the best putters in the game, it makes me feel a bit more comfortable betting him even in his first outing.

  • Top-5: 40/1 on PointsBet
  • Top-10: 16/1 on PointsBet
  • Top-20: 8/1 PointsBet
