UFC 259 Blachowicz vs. Adesanya MMA Betting Odds & Picks

Makhachev Via Decision +106

A fighter that I am really high on is Islam Makhachev. I believe this is a good matchup to showcase his wrestling skills against Drew Dober. I would not recommend standing with Dober, as he has evolved his game and become a very dangerous opponent on the feet. Dober’s Achilles heel has been his wrestling defense, leading to submission losses. I don’t think Makhachev via submission +400 is a bad bet, but Dober has been surrounding himself with a great team and training partners to improve his grappling. I think a dominant win based around top control is the likely scenario, and I think Makhachev via decision is a nice bet.

Sean Brady Via Decision +140

If you’ve been listening to our MMA Strategy Show, you know that I have been pumping this kid Sean Brady. I believe this kid has the complete package to climb the rankings and become a force within the division. We have already seen skills in every department — crisp striking, powerful shots, strong wrestling and sneaky submissions. Brady will be facing his toughest test to date against Jake Matthews, but I think he pulls it off. Matthews isn’t an easy opponent by any means, and has a very similar skillset to Brady. I just believe Brady has a slight edge everywhere, and will win a close contest. I don’t believe this fight will be finished inside the distance, as both men are exceptionally skilled and could nullify each other. I’ll take a shot at Brady via decision.

Tim Elliot +100

At this stage of the game, we understand that we can’t trust Tim Elliot. We aren’t sure which Elliot is going to show up, but over the course of his career we have witnessed impressive victories against legitimate competition, and panic-stricken losses when he is faced with resistance. It seems as though Elliot has found himself again under coach James Krause, and I think that is imperative to his success. Krause is able to blend a methodical approach around his fighter’s strengths, and I think Elliot is extremely skilled. Elliot has an incredible pace while mixing in awkward combinations and nice takedowns to throw off his opponents. Elliot’s opponent, Jordan Espinosa, is a mediocre fighter in all areas, but relies on his impressive speed and footwork to outpoint his competition. Espinosa will look to keep this fight on the outside and pick apart Elliot, but that won’t come easy. Elliot has more tools to work with, and could even hunt for a submission win which sits at an impressive +425. If you want a safer bet I would recommend Elliot straight up at +100.
