Betting Picks & Predictions for UFC Vegas 24: Whittaker vs. Gastelum
Alhassan via KO/TKO -155
In this surprising matchup between Abdul Razak Alhassan and Jacob Malkoun, we have a nice knockout prop to target. Malkoun is looking to return from an 18-second defeat to Phil Hawes, and is matched up against an absolute powerhouse in Alhassan. On the flip side, Alhassan is looking to rebound from a surprising knockout defeat to Khaos Williams so I understand your hesitation. Personally, I believe Malkoun was given a UFC contract because he is the jiu-jitsu coach for Robert Whittaker, but I’m not sure if he can compete at this level. Malkoun should look to take down Alhassan to avoid danger, but I think it will be tough sledding. Alhassan has knocked out legitimate fighters in the UFC, and I think a -155 line is valuable. If you’re interested in bumping up your return, you could always look into the round KO props.
Alex Munoz +130
In a lightweight clash, we have Alex Munoz taking on Luis Pena. Coming from the Ultimate Fighter, Pena developed some buzz, mainly for his size in the division. Pena is a long fighter standing at 6-foot-3 with a 75-inch reach, but it hasn’t materialized into much success in the octagon. Pena is at a crossroads in his career and is now paired against a wrestling phenom. Munoz has been the wrestling coach at Team Alpha Male for years, and has trained at CSA to develop his striking. Munoz debuted against the legitimate Nasrat Haqparast, and had moments in the fight but was overall outgunned. The fact Munoz wasn’t finished in that bout gives me confidence against Pena. Pena’s length can pose problems for any fighter, but his willingness to engage in the clinch could lead to a wrestling clinic from Munoz. I like this underdog.

Meerschaert via Sub +200
This fight will be an exciting grappling contest that could go two ways: Bartosz Fabinski will rag doll Gerald Meerschaert for fifteen minutes, or Meerschaert will capitalize and win via submission against Fabinski. Throughout Meerschaert’s career he has accumulated 23 submission victories, and Fabinski struggles to avoid submissions. This is a nice spot to target if you believe in Meerschaert’s unorthodox submission game, often hunting the neck when opponents get lazy.
