The Chicago White Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays today in a lopsided pitching matchup. Ace Lucas Giolito takes on the soft-tossing Ryan Yarbrough in Chicago. Giolito is interesting for a strikeout prop as well, but that will be covered in the sister article for player prop bets. Giolito has had some incredible strikeout numbers this year and takes on the Rays. After a rough start to the season, Giolito has not had an xFIP higher than 3.28 in his last five starts. On the other hand, Yarbrough, has only had four starts with an xFIP under 4.00 all year. The White Sox offense is also one of the best at handling left-handed pitching, so expecting an easy White Sox win in this matchup makes sense.

Angels vs. Athletics Moneyline: +110 (William Hill)

The Angels at plus-money against a bad left-handed pitcher is a great spot to target. Griffin Canning takes the mound for the Angels, and while he has great strikeout potential, he also gets hit hard when contact is made. Sporting an elevated BABIP this year, it seems positive regression is due for him. On the other side is Cole Irvin, who has not had an xFIP under 4.00 in his last seven starts yet somehow has avoided getting blown up in the last two. The Angels offense is a difficult out even with Mike Trout on the DL, and it should be able to get Irvin for enough runs to maintain a lead into the late innings.

Phillies vs. Dodgers Under Seven Runs: -108 (SugarHouse)

A great pitching matchup in Los Angeles should lead to runs being difficult to come by. Zack Wheeler and Clayton Kershaw face off in what should be a pitching duel. Wheeler has been spectacular this year, sporting a 32.4% strikeout rate and an xERA of 2.41. Kershaw has been no slouch either, with a 29% strikeout rate and xERA of 3.06. It is difficult to predict which team will come out victorious today, but taking the under seems like the best MLB betting pick with two great pitchers trying to one-up each other on the mound today.
