The Cardinals essentially had a preseason game last week, as they faced the Joe Flacco-led New York Jets. It was an easy 20-point win, but it can almost be viewed as a loss since Arizona lost Chandler Jones, their best all-around defensive player. They must rely on their offense to get the win on Monday night after things started to click for them last week.
Against the Jets, Kyler Murray passed for 380 yards while running for another 31. The majority of his passing success came with DeAndre Hopkins, who continues to prove he is one of the top talents in the NFL. He totaled 131 yards and a touchdown, bringing his season total to 528 yards in five games. He should be busy this week, as he faces a Cowboys defense that has been terrible. Dallas has allowed a league-worst 36 points per game while ranking in the bottom half in nearly all yards stats.
The Cowboys has a big loss last week, with Prescott suffering a season-ended injury. Luckily for them, they have Andy Dalton, a competent veteran, to fill the role. Entering the game cold off the sideline, Dalton completed nine of 11 passes for 111 yards. With the most talented corps of receivers he has ever had, Dalton should be able to move the ball, especially against the Arizona defense. He also has Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield with him. While Mike McCarthy continues his ways of abandoning the run, we could see a heavy dose of him in this game. Dalton s still easing his way into this offense, considering his limited meaningful offseason reps to learn the offense.
