There is an intriguing eight-game slate tonight from which to locate some winning NBA betting picks. There is no better way to kickstart the weekend than by raking in some cash on NBA player props and predictions. Friday’s featured bets include props for Jonas Valanciunas, Jordan Clarkson and Anthony Davis.
Yesterday’s NBA Player Props Recap
One for three on Thursday. Kevin Porter Jr. flew over the NBA betting line of 6.5 assists. Unfortunately, the NBA prediction for Theo Maledon to stay under 11.5 points and Kent Bazemore to exceed 11.5 points failed to materialize. Bazemore came up just shy too. It has been that kind of week around here, but we’ll look to rebound with Friday’s NBA player props!
NBA Betting Prediction: NBA Player Props | April 30
Jonas Valanciunas Over 11.5 Rebounds
Prior to sustaining a concussion and missing a string of games, Valanciunas had an epic run of performances. The Grizzlies center was virtually a walking double-double, destroying opposing teams both in the scoring column and on the glass. Valanciunas is averaging 11.1 rebounds per game on the season, though he has fallen short of that average in each of the last five games he has played. The last two games since his return have seen Valanciunas play well below his season minutes average. That is unlikely to be the case tonight.

While Valanciunas was sidelined, the Grizzlies’ lineup was finally graced with the presence of Jaren Jackson Jr. As a result, the minutes and role for Valanciunas have been lower in the last few games than it was for the entire NBA betting season. Jackson has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Magic, which figures to pave the way to more playing time for Valanciunas. Although tonight’s rebounding prop line is a tick above his season average, the situation maps out as a good one to back Valanciunas. Add in the enticing payout of plus-money odds, and there’s value in playing the over.
Jordan Clarkson Under 3.5 Assists
Setting up teammates just isn’t a staple of Jordan Clarkson’s game. So while the state of the Jazz injury report ahead of Friday’s matchup against the Suns would suggest betting Clarkson NBA player props to go over, it’s hard to get excited about him drastically outperforming in assists. On the season, he is averaging just 2.8 dimes per game. As such, he would need to outperform this mark by over one whole assist to exceed tonight’s NBA betting line of 3.5.
The Awesemo NBA Betting Player Props Tool likes the pick of Clarkson to finish under 3.5 total assists. Sure, Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell are set to remain sidelined again on Friday. There is also a chance that Royce O’Neale joins them. But in a nearly identical situation in Utah’s last game on Wednesday, Clarkson failed to hand out a single assist over 25 minutes. One can’t help but view assist totals of five and eight in back-to-back games against the Minnesota Timberwolves this past week as outliers. Clarkson will be hard-pressed to replicate them tonight, especially against a Suns squad that sports one of the NBA’s top defenses.
Anthony Davis Under 7.5 Rebounds
Although Davis is officially listed as questionable, all indications seem to point to him being on the floor for the Lakers. Since making his return from a multi-month injury absence, Davis hasn’t been a huge factor on the glass. Only once in the four games since his return has he gone over tonight’s NBA betting picks line of 7.5 total rebounds. There are a couple of reasons to bet against Davis doing so once again on Friday.
Davis and the Lakers will be facing one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA this evening in the Kings. In fact, the Kings are one of the worst teams in the league period at this point. With multiple key contributors set to miss tonight’s game, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Los Angeles cruise. Such a game script could lead to reduced playing time for Davis. The other factor to keep in mind here is Andre Drummond. He wasn’t even a Laker back when Davis sustained the Achilles injury that forced him out of action. Drummond’s presence inside and on the boards ease the rebounding load that Davis might otherwise be shouldering. There is a little juice attached to this under, but it appears to be worth laying.
