Yesterday’s NBA Player Props Recap

We turned things up a notch yesterday with five NBA player props across the 11 Tuesday games. Hopefully you were able to get in on some of the action as we nailed four of them. The NBA betting picks for Kendrick Nunn, Ivica Zubac and Stephen Curry all turned out to be comfortable winners. Our Facundo Campazzo assists bet also cashed, as he stayed just under the line of 6.5. Only Giannis Antetokounmpo prevented a perfect night, as he went over 9.5 rebounds. Even so, it was a great Tuesday.

Daniel Gafford (WAS) Over 4.5 Rebounds

Imagine if Wizards coach Scott Brooks would actually play his best available center the most minutes. Sadly, he doesn’t quite seem to know how to do that. One need not look any further than Daniel Gafford’s playing time over the last five games for evidence. Despite being far more talented and consistent than both Alex Len and Robin Lopez, Gafford continues to struggle to see much more than 15 minutes per game. Even so, there’s reason to get behind him to exceed tonight’s NBA betting line of 4.5 rebounds.

For starters, Gafford has proven capable of noteworthy production even as Brooks’ horrendous rotation continues to plague him. In the last 10 games, Gafford has played more than 20 minutes on only three occasions, yet he has grabbed four or more boards in seven of those games. This includes a five-rebound effort in just 15 minutes on Monday against the same Hawks squad that the Wizards will face tonight. Given the athletic bigs of the Hawks, Gafford easily appears to be the ideal center matchup over Len or Lopez. Washington will be without Bradley Beal, so hopefully Brooks will realize tonight’s game isn’t an ideal one to play games. Gafford should see more minutes than he did on Monday and clear the NBA betting line as a result.

Kevin Durant (BKN) Under 27.5 Points

James Harden is finally set to return to the court for the Nets in tonight’s home game against the Spurs. This will mark the first time in a long time that Brooklyn’s big three of Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will all be healthy and active together. That is if Irving overcomes a questionable status and ultimately does play tonight. Either way, the return of Harden means another big mouth to feed in terms of scoring. As a result, looking under the NBA player props line of 27.5 points for Durant is a solid move.

The Awesemo NBA Betting Player Props Tool is also in on this selection. Although the tool liked the under at 29.5 even earlier in the day, the betting market has shifted rapidly with the news that Harden does indeed plan to return. Durant is averaging 27.9 points per game on the season. He has fallen short of that average and tonight’s line in two of the Nets’ last three games. Of course, Harden hasn’t been in the lineup for some time now. Another factor to note here is the Spurs’ decent scoring defense. Finally, given the depleted state of San Antonio’s roster, there might even be some blowout potential here. Such a game script could see Durant play fewer minutes and/or take a more passive role in pushing for his own shot.

Jordan Clarkson (UTA) Under 3.5 Made 3-Pointers

Jordan Clarkson expert wagers

The runaway favorite to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, Jordan Clarkson turned plenty of heads with his performance on Monday. He came off the bench to drop 41 points in what was ultimately a narrow loss. While impressive, as is his 18 points per game on the season, Clarkson’s 3-point shooting percentage is not incredible by any stretch of the imagination. He hit just five of 16 shots from deep on Monday. Yes, he did in fact attempt 16 triples among his 33 shot attempts overall. Such a usage rate is guaranteed to regress this evening, which makes playing under 3.5 made 3-pointers an intriguing NBA prediction.

It is worth noting that the Trail Blazers team the Jazz will face tonight isn’t great in either scoring or 3-point shooting defense. That said, they are bound to have some sort of game plan to address Clarkson after Monday’s outing. Just a 34.3% shooter from beyond the arc this season, Clarkson figures to attempt far fewer 3-pointers than he did two days ago. The last three times he attempted double-digit triples, he took seven or fewer shots from downtown in the following game. Unless he bucks that trend or drastically outperforms his percentages, the under should be a sound NBA betting ticket.
