How to Bet Celtics vs. Knicks Tonight: Best NBA Bets, Predictions & Player Props 1/6/22

There is no time like the present for the Knicks and Celtics. The two teams open up a home-and-home starting at Madison Square Garden, as both teams are tied for the 10th playoff spot in the east. Boston saw Jayson Tatum return against the Spurs last night and got 30 from Jaylen Brown. Boston is getting healthier and making a push to stay out of any play-in game scenario. The same can be said for the Knicks, as Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett are leading the way. However, New York will be without Kemba Walker and possibly Nerlens Noel. With all that information in mind, we will use Awesemo’s expert projections and sports betting tips to find the best NBA bets and player props tonight.

It is a tight line with plenty of player props available, so let’s go to OddsShopper and find the best NBA betting tips and value across the board.

Best Celtics vs. Knicks NBA Bets Today & Odds Shopping

The easiest place to find the best bets in the NBA is on the one-stop shop for value and where to place a wager. The best part is the tool is free and easy to use. Simply filter, sort the page and find the best return available across all books.

Knicks Moneyline (+108, FanDuel)

Head over to the NBA Betting Resources page on OddsShopper to see the best return for a bunch of different options on betting a game. This is about matching star power tonight, with a little splash of homecourt. The Knicks found a bright light in Barrett playing well enough to counter the one-two punch from Tatum and Brown. Dennis Schroeder moved to the bench as Marcus Smart takes over a larger role, but the Knicks can match that depth. Randle and Barrett should win the battle in the frontcourt and get to the line enough to be the difference.

Jayson Tatum Over 7.5 Rebounds (+110, SugarHouse)

Tatum looked great in his first game back since Christmas and should have another monster minutes night against the Knicks. Tatum has an advantageous matchup if anyone other than Randle tries to keep him off the boards. The Knicks are not going to do that, as keeping Tatum off the boards is not their top priority. OddsShopper has a 58% expected win rate on this bet because Awesemo’s projection is tight at 8.2 rebounds. The expected ROI is 21% because of a solid return of plus-money in a situation that hits more often than not. Yes, there is a little risk in this prop, but it is worth the return.

The Latest Sports Betting Content from Stokastic Odds

Al Horford Over 6.5 Rebounds (-105, BetMGM)

This number is low, and bettors should take advantage of it before it hits 7.5. Al Horford is on a rebounding tear, going over this number in five straight games. It is enough to show the increased involvement he has in rebounding for Boston, sacrificing other things like scoring. OddsShopper has this bet with a 65% chance of going over and a 26% expected ROI. This prop is a good reminder of why OddsShopper works, as the site found a profitable balance between a low number on the prop and a -105 return. Boston getting healthier around Horford has not impacted the forward’s minutes, which would be the only deterrent in playing the over here. Twenty-five minutes tonight against the Knicks would be enough to grab seven rebounds.

Evan Fournier Over 11.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)

No Walker, no Derrick Rose, no problem for Evan Fournier. The Knicks have played three straight games without either Walker or Rose, so this is nothing new for Fournier. Awesemo projects him for just 13 points, but there is a 1.5-point gap to exploit. OddsShopper has a 63% chance of Fournier going over 11.5 points and an expected ROI of 19%. This is also taking advantage of a low number due to recency bias. Fournier comes off a 0-point night in a win over the Pacers. Expect a healthy bounce back, especially with the Celtics focusing their energy on Randle and Barrett.

Alec Burks 4+ 3-Pointers (+350, FanDuel)

Much like the Fournier prop above, this takes advantage of some recency bias with Burks. He comes off a brutal night shooting the ball, missing all five of his 3-point attempts. He is still getting shots up with an increased number of minutes. Burks just needs 30 minutes to hit five-plus attempts, and then it is just a matter of him knocking down shots. The game flow should allow a lot of looks for Burks and should correlate nicely with the Fournier points prop. The Knicks backcourt may be down a couple of guys, but nobody in a backup capacity is taking away looks from Burks.
