Oklahoma City opened the favorite in this one, and the line is on the move, so this is one to lock early. The Bulls are riding a three-game losing streak, but even at 4-7, they have been an extremely competitive team this season. All four of the Bulls’ wins came as underdogs of at least 4 points. Chicago is 8-3 against the spread, actually covering five in a row. As for the three-game losing streak, the Bulls lost by 4 at Sacramento, 2 at the Lakers and 3 at the Clippers — and they were at least 7-point dogs in each game.
The Thunder got hot themselves, going on an impressive three-game winning streak, but that’s not the team they have been this season. Oklahoma City has dropped two in a row, by 10 to the Spurs and 29 to the Lakers. Its last five losses have all been by double figures. Even if the Bulls have the worse record, there’s a large talent gap here in favor of Chicago. We also have the coaching narrative of Billy Donovan facing his only team for the first time, if you’re into that kind of thing. I’d expect the Bulls to be well prepared.
