Jazz vs. Suns Game Info

Utah Jazz (38-12, 16-10 Away) vs. Phoenix Suns (35-14, 18-8 Home)
Date: Wednesday, April 7, 2021
Time: 10 p.m. EST
Venue: PHX Arena — Phoenix, Ariz.
Coverage: ESPN

Both of these teams come into this game hot. While the Jazz did lose last night, it was their first loss over their past 10 games. However, it was their fifth loss in their last nine road games, showing that they are clearly a stronger team at home. Their loss to the Mavericks Monday was due to losing the 3-point battle. Utah shot 12-for-44 (27.3%) from deep, while Dallas hit 23 of 49 (46.9%) of their attempts. Donovan Mitchell was especially off, missing all eight of his attempts from beyond the arc. Awesemo is projecting him to get back on track tonight, with just over three makes expected. Rudy Gobert has totaled at least two blocks in every game since the All-Star Break, but Awesemo has his projection just under two tonight.

The Suns have also won nine of their last 10 games, including six straight. Devin Booker has picked up his aggressiveness since the All-Star Break, averaging 28.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Awesemo is expecting Booker to lead his team in scoring tonight, with over 25 points being the current projection. Aside from Booker’s scoring, the Suns’ big three has been playing well, with Chris Paul coming off a 19-point double-double and Deandre Ayton coming off a 27-point double-double.

Both teams have clear stars, but solid depth, making them two dangerous teams in the Western Conference.

Jazz vs. Suns NBA Betting Trends

  • The total has hit the under in four of Utah’s last five games.
  • Utah is 9-1 straight up in its last 10 games.
  • Phoenix is 12-6 against the spread (ATS) in its last 18 games.
  • The total has hit the over in four of Phoenix’s last five games.

Jazz vs. Suns Prediction

The Suns are 17-9 against the spread at home this season, while Utah is only 13-13 on the road. It hasn’t been often, but Phoenix is also 6-2 against the spread as an underdog, as they are tonight. Utah is clearly not as good away from home, so I will side with the Suns, who have been impressive on their home floor also season, but especially recently.

Prediction: Suns +2
