Brooklyn enters this game having lost their past four games. With two of the losses coming against Milwaukee, they were even more costly in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Brooklyn has no business losing the last game to Dallas, but they put the Mavericks on the free throw line too many times (26). Kyrie Irving exploded for 45 points, but his five fouls were a big reason why they lost. Tonight, Awesemo projects Kyrie for about 25 points. This is second to Kevin Durant, who Awesemo projects for about 27 points. Durant has the easier one-on-one matchup, especially if he can get Michael Porter Jr. guarding him. This will be a tough game for the Nets, and it comes down to playing a full four quarters.

On the other side, Denver has lost two of their past three games, but they have won their past seven home games. The Nuggets are on the second leg of a back-to-back, having lost to the Jazz last night. Simply, they lost because they turned the ball over seven more times than Utah, and they let the Jazz pour in 21 shots from downtown. Defense was the Nuggets’ Achilles heel last season in the bubble. Their effort cannot slip on that end of the floor now. Still, their offense has continued to be great. They are led by MVP frontrunner Nikola Jokic, who Awesemo projects for 27 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. The big key for Denver will be containing Durant, especially after they allowed Bojan Bogdanovic to rack up 48 points last night.

While the Nuggets are on the second leg of a back-to-back, it’s still interesting to see them as underdogs as home. After a loss, Denver is 13-9 ATS while Brooklyn is 9-14. Yes, the Nuggets will be outmatched in the backcourt due to their injuries, but the Nets also have no good answer for Nikola Jokic, and Michael Porter Jr. could cause Brooklyn headaches. This is a tough one, but I predict the Nuggets to bounce back from last night and at least cover at home.
