With the Houston Rockets being without so many players after the blockbuster trade that ensued on Wednesday, we have an opportunity to exploit in the markets. I’m looking at NBA betting picks for Thursday, and David Nwaba in the Rockets – Spurs game looks like a good spot to go to.

Rockets vs. Spurs: David Nwaba OVER 11.5 points (-128, BetMGM)
The Rockets are as shorthanded as it gets on Thursday. Of course, we had the blockbuster James Harden trade just a day earlier, which carves out massive usage to go around in this game. But on top of that, the injury report also takes out Houston’s two best wings on the roster in John Wall and Eric Gordon.
The guard rotation couldn’t be more thin. While I’d prefer a Ben McLemore point prop, but I haven’t been able to find one. Nwaba will have to do and should be just fine. He averages 7.6 points per game and has scored in double figures three times this season, but it’s impossible to emphasize just how much firepower will be missing on the wing. I do like looking at Christian Wood’s point prop as the only quality scorer in the lineup, but Nwaba is blowout-proof and could play 35-40 minutes in this contest. He should find his way there on pure volume. Behind Nwaba and McLemore, Sterling Brown and Mason Jones are the only active guards.
