NBA Betting Picks & Best Player Props Tonight

Ivica Zubac Over 8.5 Points and Over 6.5 Rebounds

Zubac has been efficient over the first two games of the season, producing 1.46 points per shot on seven attempts per game. He averages 18 minutes a game, but he is being used at a 21.2% rate. Zubac is also doing an excellent job on the offensive glass, as he is hauling down 13.5% of all available rebounds on that end of the floor, which ranks fifth in the NBA. Zubac has a strong matchup against the Trail Blazers, as they are allowing opposing centers to average 26.5 points (seventh most) on 69.7% shooting from the field and 12 rebounds.

Zubac is projected for 11.93 points and 8.79 rebounds tonight. The over on points has a 78% chance of hitting and an expected return on investment of 55%. Meanwhile, the over on the rebound total has a 79% chance of hitting and a return of investment of 39%.

Gordon Hayward Over 17.5 Points

Hayward is off to a pretty good start to the season, although he is coming off his worst game of the year thus far. He tallied 8 points against Brooklyn (Sunday) on 4-for-11 shooting from the field, including 0-for-4 from beyond the arc, and he committed five turnovers, although he did dole out six assists. He is averaging 17.7 points along with three rebounds, two 3-pointers and six assists while recording an effective field goal percentage of 51.1%. The Hornets, off to a 3-0 start to the season, have been a well-balanced team, with five players averaging double-digit shot attempts. However, Hayward is still one of the team’s most potent offensive players and has a usage percentage of 24% in 34.3 minutes of playing time.

Heyward has a good matchup, as opposing small forwards have gouged the Celtics for 25 points a game on 58.8% shooting from the field and 38.6% from beyond the arc. All three of the small forwards the Celtics have played have topped double digits, with New York’s R.J. Barrett going for 19 points and Toronto rookie Scottie Barnes putting up 25. Hayward is projected to finish with 21.13 points; Awesemo gives the over a 73% chance of hitting and an expected ROI 55%.

Trae Young Under 26.5 Points

Young is surprisingly off to a slow start shooting the ball. He missed 14 of 22 field attempts against Cleveland on Saturday, including 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. He is shooting only 36.8% from the field and 27.3% from the 3-point line through the first two games. Young is projected for 23.01 points tonight with the under given a 71% chance of hitting. The ROI is expected to be 35%.

Nikola Vucevic Under 12.5 Rebounds

Vucevic is listed as questionable for tonight’s game against Toronto, as he is dealing with an unspecified illness. He has posted two double-doubles, both against Detroit, and he has dominated the glass against the Pistons, compiling 34 rebounds. However, he only finished with four rebounds in 31 minutes against New Orleans. Vucevic is projected for 9.99 rebounds tonight. Awesemo gives the under an 81% of hitting and an expected ROI of 46%.

DeMar DeRozan Under 4.5 Assists

DeRozan and the Bulls are off to a solid start, and while he is a talented playmaker, he is at his best when creating his own offense. DeRozan is second on the team in usage rate at 29.2% and averages 21.2 points a game despite shooting 43.6% from the field — he takes 25 shots a game. He is also over nine free-throw attempts a game, converting them at a 75% clip.

DeRozan is averaging four assists (19.6% assist rate) a game, but he has doled out more than four assists in only one of those contests. The Bulls have several capable distributors, and if Vucevic (illness) does not play, DeRozan will likely be counted on to score even more. DeRozan is projected to finish with 3.71 assists tonight. The under has a 70% chance of hitting, and the ROI is expected to be 40%.
