NBA Odds: Prop Bets for Aug. 13
Thomas Bryant – Rebounds (Over 7.5)
The Wizards-Celtics game should actually stay relatively close today, with all of Boston’s starters being rested. The Wizards haven’t had anything to play for the entire time essentially, so they should not be changing up their rotations at all. Bryant has played seven games in the bubble. He has hit over this rebounding total in six of these games. He shouldn’t have much trouble with the Celtics’ reserves, and there should be plenty of missed shots for him to grab.
Devin Booker – Points (Over 30.5)
At the time of writing, it is unclear if the Mavericks will be at full strength today or not. What we do know is that the Suns are in a must-win game, as they are tied with the Memphis Grizzlies for No. 9 in the Western Conference, giving them the opportunity to compete for the last spot in the playoffs.
Booker has been the hottest player in the bubble, playing in memory of Kobe Bryant. He is scoring at a Kobe-like rate, putting up 30 or more points in five of his last six games. This includes exactly 35 points in four of his past five games and shooting over 50% in all but one game. The Mavericks aren’t going to lock Booker down. The NBA odds expect another big performance for Booker today, so look for him to lead his team to victory.
Carmelo Anthony – Points (Over 15.5)
Anthony continues his improved play in the bubble. The veteran has put up at least 20 points in three straight games. Aside from him simply playing better, he has also taken on a bit more of the offensive load, with guard C.J. McCollum reportedly playing through a fractured back. Anthony has averaged 15 shot attempts and five free throw attempts over the last three games. Facing a weaker Nets team in yet another must-win game, Anthony should continue to come through for Portland.
