NBA Odds: Favorite NBA Bets + NBA Picks of the Day | August 11

We’re at the point in the season where absolutely anything can happen and coaches can pull their starters at any point. We saw this during a crazy day of basketball yesterday. Today, we have a big seven-game slate, giving us NBA betting action all day long. The best way to check out these NBA odds will be by using our OddsShopper tool since you can quickly compare odds at all of the major books and see if there are discrepancies to exploit.

Betting on the NBA is now getting a bit more complicated since we cannot assume teams will be at full strength. Some teams are resting for the playoffs, while others are trying to develop their inexperienced players. There are few teams truly trying 100% every single night, and the NBA odds are now beginning to account for this.

After reviewing these NBA odds, these are my favorite bets for Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Favorite NBA Odds and NBA Bets for Aug. 11

Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic (-4.5)

The Nets essentially went down to the local gym to recruit their players for today, with Caris LeVert, Joe Harris and Jarrett Allen all sitting out. Brooklyn currently has the No. 7 seed, sitting 3 1/2 games ahead of the No. 8 seed, which is Orlando. A win today would clinch the seventh seed, ensuring they don’t play Milwaukee in the first round. Instead, they are resting their guys and will leave the door open for Orlando to move up in the standings in their final game.

While there are doubts about which Magic players will be active today, Nikola Vucevic should continue to start and play well. He may be all they need today.

Portland Trail Blazers (-2) vs Dallas Mavericks

We can assume that Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis will play tonight, and the official news could actually move this line slightly more in our favor, but I like the Blazers to cover two points anyways. Portland matches up too well with Dallas. They have Jusuf Nurkic for Porzingis, then nobody will truly shut down Doncic, but the Blazers have the backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum to outpace him. Aside from those three, Portland has a Carmelo Anthony resurrection, and they have the best 3-point shooter in the bubble in Gary Trent Jr. coming off the bench.

Dallas has given up an average of 120 points in the bubble. Their defense has taken a step backwards. If they are not going to slow Portland down, I don’t think Dallas has the weapons to keep up.

Currently, BetRivers has the best NBA odds on this bet, at -112.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Sacramento Kings (Under 234.5)

Yes, both of these teams play at a high pace. No, neither of these teams defend well. Usually this combination is a recipe for the over hitting, but there are too many scorers out today for these teams. For the Kings, their leader, De’Aaron Fox, is out. For the Pelicans, Jrue Holiday, Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are all out. These are their top three offensive weapons. With offenses out of sync and top scorers out, I don’t think the point total should reflect both teams being healthy.

Currently, BetMGM has the best NBA odds on this bet, at -110.
