NBA Odds: Favorite NBA Bets + NBA Picks of the Day | August 1st

Well, yesterday was fun! We hit on nearly every bet, based on the NBA odds. All of the prop bets in the other article also hit, so we might as well keep the momentum rolling into the weekend!

We have a five-game slate on the board today, with some of the teams from Day 1 playing again. This helps to give us a little more clarity, during this unique time. Teams that have already shown success down in the bubble may also have some biased odds leaning their way. The best way to check this out will be to use our OddsShopper tool, since you can quickly compare NBA odds at all of the major books and see if there is one favoring a team more than another.

After reviewing these NBA odds, these are my favorite bets for Saturday, August 1st.

Favorite NBA Odds and NBA Bets for August 1st

Philadelphia 76ers vs Indiana Pacers (Over 211)

This is where OddsShopper is handy. When looking at the NBA odds and point totals for this game across all of the books, we see that all are set at 217 or 218, currently, except for BetMGM, which is sitting at 211. Let’s bet the over on this.

The Sixers have been experimenting with a new starting lineup, while down in Orlando. Ben Simmons is expected to play more of the four, which will bring Shake Milton into the rotation. This will make Philadelphia extremely fast and dangerous, leading to them out-scoring their 109.6 average this season.

The Pacers will struggle a bit more defensively in this spot, as it will be tough for them to match up without Domantas Sabonis. It is also unclear, at the time of writing, if Victor Oladipo will play tonight. The loss of these two players will hurt the Pacers overall, but especially on the defensive end.

Philadelphia 76ers (-5.5) vs Indiana Pacers

We might as well stay in this game and bet the spread, for the same reasons discussed above. The 76ers look the best they have all season long, with Simmons changing his role to create mismatches. The long break is also beneficial for someone like Joel Embiid, who is constantly taking breaks. He should be healthy and ready to go.

On the Pacers side, we already know they will be missing arguably their best player, with Sabonis out. Oladipo very well could be out, or at least limited, and now we found out that Malcolm Brogdon has a neck issue. This one could turn ugly early, if Philadelphia keeps the same level of energy we have recently seen.

Miami Heat (+2) vs Denver Nuggets

While Denver would love to win this game, playing in a competitive Western Conference, their main priority is to get healthy. Today, both Will Barton and Gary Harris have already been ruled out, while Jamal Murray is questionable. The Heat enter the game fully healthy. While most sportsbooks have Miami as slight favorites, BetMGM NBA odds are late to the party and have them as two-point underdogs. Take advantage of this. If you can’t the Heat are still in a solid position to win their first bubble matchup. Denver has too many new kinks to work out today.
