Same Game Parlay of the Night: Best NBA Picks & Parlays Tonight | 1/5/22

Same-game parlays are one of the most exciting new forms of betting on sports. Not only are the payouts potentially massive, but they can also be +EV. Since all of the wagers take place in the same contest, it allows you to craft a narrative that can pay off royally if it hits. Same-game parlays become even better with the help of OddsShopper. It allows you to view all of the different wagers available for each game compared to the Awesemo NBA Projections. The wider the gap between the line and the projection, the more +EV the wager. This allows you to find the best NBA betting picks easily. Let us dive into some of the best NBA picks and parlays tonight.

Best Same Game NBA Picks and Parlays: Jazz against Nuggets

The first step is finding which sport you are going to wager on, so the banner at the top of the screen has the sports separated. Once you are on the NBA page, it is super simple to customize what you are looking for as far as teams and players on the left-hand side of the page.

Now, if you miss one of the odds highlighted in the article because it changed, do not worry. The lines do not always stay the same as they are updated every two minutes. There will be examples of when you can still wager based on the Awesemo projections. It is also easy to sort the props by what style you want to bet them, meaning that you can choose the highest ROI or the highest expected win rate.

Generally, the best approach is a mix of the highest ROI and expected win rate, and this process should take under 30 seconds to filter what you are looking for. The highlighted wagers in the article can also be bet individually, so if the parlay misses by one leg, it is not a total loss.

Donovan Mitchell Under 27.5 Points & Under 4.5 Rebounds

The Jazz have been an offensive machine this season, and Mitchell has been their driving force. They lead the league with an offensive rating of 117 points per 100 possessions, and no one else in the league is particularly close. The gap between the Jazz and the Hawks – who rank second at 113.1 points per 100 possessions – is larger than the gap between the Hawks and the Pacers (who rank 16th).

Mitchell leads the team in points per game with an average of 25.9, and he has been rolling recently. He is averaging 28.4 points over his past 10 games, and he is coming off 29 points against the Warriors in his last outing. Still, Mitchell makes for a few appealing unders in this matchup. The Nuggets have played at one of the slowest paces in the league this season, which tends to keep the scoring down. They allowed just 106.1 points per game, and the Jazz are implied for just 113.25 points on Wednesday. That represents a slight decrease from their season average of 116, and if the Jazz are going to score less, it stands to reason that Mitchell might as well.

Mitchell’s rebounding prop also seems high. He is averaging 3.9 rebounds per game this season, and the Nuggets are an above-averaging rebounding squad. Overall, the Nuggets allow the eighth-fewest rebounds per game. OddsShopper gives both unders an expected win rate of at least 67%, so they are a nice way to start our same-game parlay.

Mike Conley Under 4.5 Rebounds

Conley is another player to fade as a rebounder in this matchup. He is an even worse rebounder than Mitchell – he is averaging just 2.9 rebounds per game this season – so keeping him under five is very reasonable. This under requires a bit more juice than with Mitchell’s, but it is definitely worth including: OddsShopper gives this wager an 84% expected win rate.

Nikola Jokic Under 7.5 Assists

Jokic is an incredible basketball player. There is basically nothing that he cannot do on a basketball court, including passing. He is arguably the best passing big man in league history, and he has already racked up six triple-doubles this season. However, Jokic has had to focus more on scoring than distributing this season. He is averaging 6.9 assists per game – down from 8.3 last season – which makes sense given the state of the team’s roster. Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are not available to help with the scoring responsibilities, so Jokic has had to be a bit more aggressive looking for his own shot. Jokic has handed out seven assists or fewer in six of his past seven games, and the lone exception was an eight-assist performance against the Clippers. This number is simply too high.

Aaron Gordon Over 13.5 Points

Adding the over on Gordon’s scoring prop brings the total potential payout on this same-game parlay to approximately +1750. Gordon is averaging 14.1 points per game this season, and he has scored at least 15 points in both games since returning to the lineup. That includes a game where he played just 20.8 minutes.

The Jazz also have not been quite as potent defensively this season as in years past. They are still solid in that department – they rank fifth in defensive rating – but they have shown some vulnerability from time to time. Asking Gordon to get to his season average in this matchup is reasonable.
