Best NFL Betting Picks for Week 1 on BetMGM

Zach Brunner looks at the best NFL betting picks to place for Week 1 on BetMGM Sportsbook. Alvin Kamara, Miles Sanders and Andy Dalton

The first NFL Sunday is up and ready. To add to the excitement of football being back, there many money-making opportunities available at BetMGM Sportsbook, providing great odds to exploit. Here are some of the best NFL betting picks to for NFL Week 1 on BetMGM.

Week 1 NFL Betting Picks on BetMGM

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Washington Football Team: Under 45 (-110)

Under first-year head coach Brandon Staley, the Chargers head to the Eastern time zone to play a noon game. A slow start certainly seems possible as a result. On top of that, both of these defenses are very good. Washington is stacked on the defensive side of the ball, and they have two terrific defensive-minded coaches that will have a great game plan. The Chargers welcome Derwin James back, and Joey Bosa will continue to be an animal upfront. Ryan Fitzpatrick can be careless with the football, so expect a low-scoring defensive battle that causes the under to hit.

Miles Sanders Yards Rushing: Over 67.5 (+105)

Miles Sanders will be running against a Falcons front seven that is one of the worst in the NFL. On top of that, many people forget just how good the Eagles offensive line is when healthy. This is probably the healthiest they will be all season long, and they will be creating running lanes all game. The threat of a mobile quarterback also assists in this. Even with a beat-up line last season, Sanders ran for over 69 yards in half of his 12 games. He ran for at least 64 yards in eight of his 12 games.

Alvin Kamara Receptions: Over 5.5 (-120)

The Saints let Emmanuel Sanders and Jared Cook walk, while Michael Thomas waited late to get surgery. Then they recently released running back Latavius Murray. In other words, this is about to be a heavy Alvin Kamara game, much like it was last season against the Packers. In that game he totaled 13 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns. The Saints need the offense to run through him both on the ground and through the air. He has averaged over 5.4 receptions per game for his career, and he could double that today.

Alvin Kamara Receiving Yards: Over 51.5 (-105)

Kamara averaged 9.1 yards per reception last season. If going over on the receptions line, it is natural to project him for over 51.5 yards receiving. He had 10 games last season where he played at least 65% of the offensive snaps. Kamara totaled 50 or more yards receiving in seven of these games. Against the presumed blitz-heavy Packers defense, Kamara should see plenty of drop-off passes, leading to this to hit the over.

Andy Dalton Yards Passing: Over 209.5 (-105)

On Sunday Night Football Andy Dalton will be the starting quarterback for the Bears against the Rams. While the Rams had one of the best defenses last season, they lost their coordinator and multiple starters in their secondary, so it may be easier to pass against them than many think. The Bears offensive line is also no good, so a pass-heavy approach may be the end result. Projecting Dalton for 210 yards is disrespectful. He has a few talented receiving weapons to utilize, and the Bears are projected to lose this game, meaning Dalton will be throwing to catch up. As long as he plays the full game, this should be an easy over to hit. Awesemo gives the over on this NFL betting prop a 62% chance to hit as well.
