The 2020 NFL season is coming in hot, which means your betting card for the season needs a double-check. We’re going to be going over a copious amount of NFL futures bets, NFL odds, NFL betting picks and NFL predictions for the 2020 campaign. Sportsbooks have released win totals for every team, and we’re going to examine strengths, weaknesses, schedules and make predictions on the over/under. Right now, we’re looking at the Arizona Cardinals.
2017 was the last time we saw a win total this high entering the season for Arizona. Kliff Kingsbury has them ready to flourish with an offense that should be highly entertaining. Some have called for Kyler Murray MVP talk with his numbers improving thanks to the addition of DeAndre Hopkins. The defense received an upgrade with the drafting of hybrid linebacker Isiah Simmons out of Clemson.
Unfortunately, 2015 was the last time Arizona hit their over in the win total department. That was also the last time this team was relevant. Carson Palmer was at the helm with David Johnson, plus the defense harassed the opposition. Can they return to that form in the near future? Oddsmakers are a little hesitant on this NFL future at the moment. The schedule is tough due to the division they play in. Going against the Rams, Seahawks and 49ers six times is going to be a challenge.

Arizona Cardinals Strengths
The offense could be in some four-wide sets featuring DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk and Andy Isabella. That equates to a ton of speed with some great weapons getting open while Murray can scramble in his sleep. The addition of Kenyan Drake last season for those final eight games was truly remarkable. He is a home run threat out of the backfield as a pass catcher and runner. This team would like to get some more balance and Drake should allow them to take another step as Murray develops as a passer. The addition of Hopkins could put them in the playoff picture for many years to come. Hopkins has the best pair of mittens in the game arguably. He can take the top off the defense and shred a defense underneath with a great yard after the catch ability. Some question if he will get peppered with targets as much as he was in Houston, but this offense should be more explosive and productive.
Arizona Cardinals Weaknesses
Defensive woes made this squad tough to watch unless you were as addicted to fantasy football as I was last season. This team just couldn’t win in shootouts enough because they couldn’t get the ball back enough. The defense could not stop a nosebleed. In fact, they were dead last in yards allowed at an atrocious 402 yards per game. They made just about every opposing passer look like Joe Montana. Allowing the second most yards per game was a flat out joke last season. Patrick Peterson has lost a step and isn’t the All-Pro performer that he was at the peak of his career, but the rest of this group needs to improve by leaps and bounds. Budda Baker got the bag in the offseason, but Byron Murphy and Dre Kirkpatrick have the skills to turn this unit from a glaring weakness into a strength by the end of the season. We shall see if Arizona can put it all together.
Arizona Cardinals Schedule
Taking on the AFC East is certainly a break, but the physicality of that division could challenge the manhood of the Cardinals. They have been bad in the trenches for a while now. They need to play with an attitude in 2020. While a road date at San Francisco could be a rough opener, the following month features some winnable games across the board. Washington, Detroit, Carolina and New York (AFC) are all games the Cardinals should win. They follow that up though against potential NFC contenders in Dallas and Seattle. That is where we will find out if they can truly challenge for a playoff berth for the first time since 2015.
There is hardly any juice on OddsShopper or any outlet for that matter on the Arizona win total. Many have it at even NFL odds (-110) for both the over and under. I feel that making a wager on this team comes down to whether or not the defense improves. I am not the biggest fan of Kingsbury as a coach, but he certainly is the Rico Suave type off the field. If Simmons can become the real deal and the likes of Budda Baker and Dre Kirkpatrick ball out, then this team will stay near .500 the whole way. Chandler Jones and DeAndre Hopkins should absolutely eat like they normally do and we can expect Murray to slowly improve as a very good passer. I love the upside and feel that getting to eight wins will not be impossible for a future playoff team. They may not get there this season, but will tease their fanbase and stay in the hunt. I like the over and foresee a few upsets that they will pull off inside their division.
