NFL Betting Picks: Monday Night Football OddsShopper Best Bets | Seahawks vs Eagles

The Monday Night Football battle of the birds has some oddly interesting playoff implications given the new format for 2020. However, it wouldn’t be nearly as interesting if it weren’t involving an NFC East division that will likely crown a losing team as the division winner at regular season’s end (very much a 2020 sort of exclusive). The 7-3 Seattle Seahawks venture to Lincoln Financial Field to battle the 3-6-1 Philadelphia Eagles and with plenty of NFL betting picks to soak up on OddsShopper.

The Eagles will jump from near the bottom of the barrel as the 14th seed in the NFC all the way up to the No. 4 spot in the conference with a win on Monday Night Football and keep a half game in front of the Giants for the NFC East crown. The Seahawks will also look to stay in front of their division with a win tonight, except on the winning end of the spectrum being knotted in a tight race with the 7-4 Rams, who just suffered a loss to the other NFC West division rivals in 5-6 San Francisco on Sunday.

Can the Seahawks take another stride ahead of the Rams to hold a firm grasp on the NFC West? Or will the Eagles leapfrog the Giants once again to remain in front of the rest of the dreary NFC East? We’ll find out later this evening, where we’ll be looking to cash our tickets from best bets discovered on OddsShopper.

NFL Betting Picks: Week 12 Monday Night Football | Seahawks vs. Eagles

NFL Betting Pick: WR Tyler Lockett, OVER 5.5 Receptions (-106, BetMGM)

NFL Betting Picks: Monday Night Football OddsShopper Best Bets | Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles

It’s no secret to say that Tyler Lockett is garnering the most targets and receptions on the Seattle offense this season (88 and 67, respectively). Wilson has had a theme of peppering one of the two top Seahawks receivers in Lockett and D.K. Metcalf, with each receiver seeing as much as an excess of 40% target share in a given game. Against an Eagles secondary that is no better than average, either of Lockett or Metcalf could blow up in this spot. In regards to this player prop, the matchup and overall target share for Lockett bode well for him to achieve six or more receptions on Monday Night Football.

Running 71.3% of his routes from the slot this season, Lockett will face a mediocre defender in slot corner Nickell Robey-Coleman, where Lockett will have a two-inch height advantage and a 79.3% reception rate presented by his assignment. With just an 8.2% drop rate on catchable passes thrown to him, Lockett has proven to be a reliable first option in the Seahawks offense time and again, averaging 8.8 targets per game. His shares in the red zone are solid as well, as Lockett is tied with Metcalf for most red zone targets at 19.35% apiece.

The shadow coverage on Metcalf by cornerback Darius Slay (allowing a 72% reception rate) may make it a bit more difficult to thread targets to Metcalf in all situations, while Lockett should have a bit of an easier time getting the best of Robey-Coleman running his routes from the slot. Lockett has had just three games with five or fewer targets, while the other seven games have produced seven or more targets in Lockett’s direction. Getting slightly reduced juice at -106 on Lockett’s prop may be worth jumping on early, as line movement may ensue as the day progresses.

NFL Betting Pick: WR Travis Fulgham, OVER 3.5 Receptions (-135, William Hill Sportsbook)

Although Carson Wentz may have some trouble getting him the ball with all the sacks he endures, there’s no question who Wentz’s favorite target has been since his inclusion in Week 4. Travis Fulgham, second-year Detroit castaway, has proven himself to not only be another regrettable Lions decision, but also a unique talent who quickly stepped into a starting role initially out of the team’s injury-plagued desperation.

Cut from a similar cloth as Chase Claypool, Fulgham is part of a new generation of wide receivers who are comprised of large frames, impressive vertical abilities and great hands. Since Week 4’s debut in the Eagles’ offense, Fulgham has only seen fewer than five targets on one occasion, and that cam in Week 4 when he had three. Fulgham has also only one game with five targets (Week 7 vs. Giants), whereas the other five games have played to the tune 13, 10, 11, seven and seven targets. Considering the current receptions prop at just 3.5 catches for Fulgham, the moderate increase in juice at -135 isn’t too shabby of a luxury tax to pay.

While his presumed defender for the majority of the evening in cornerback Tre Flowers brings matching size to the table, Flowers has allowed a promising 75.6% reception rate to his assigned receivers. Considering Fulgham splits his time fairly evenly with both outside routes (left and right), he’ll also see Shaquill Griffin to some extent, where Fulgham will present a three-inch height advantage.

The biggest concern here is how much time Wentz has to work through progressions and throw accurate balls to his receivers, especially the outside routes where Fulgham is the focal point. So long as Wentz can remain upright for a better portion of Monday Night Football, there’s little question to whether Fulgham will exceed 3.5 total receptions against Seattle.
