NFL Odds Boosts To Watch | Tom Brady + Mike Evans | Thursday Night Football

Odds boosts are exactly that: Promotions from sportsbooks where they move tin your favor on certain bets. Many of them are prop bets, hoping you’ll put a few dollars on someone to hit a home run or a certain team to score a certain number of goals and still win. Our job is to highlight some of those odds boosts and give you some NFL picks to bet on, assuming it’s smart to buy into what the sportsbooks are selling. We scour the internet trying to find the best odds boosts for you every day from every sport. Today, it’s a look at the Thursday Night Football matchup.

Tonight’s fascinating Thursday Night Football matchup features Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking on the Chicago Bears. The odds boosts for tonight’s games focus heavily on Brady and Chicago quarterback Nick Foles, but I’m limiting myself to just Brady because of my lack of trust in the Bears offense. We’ll also look at the top targets of each team and the odds boosts surrounding them. As a reminder, all of the odds boosts I mention today are available on OddsShopper, Awesemo’s fantastic odds shopping tool.

NFL Picks | Thursday Night Football Odds Boosts

Tom Brady Throws for 300+ Yards (+260 BetMGM)

Last week was the first time this season Brady threw for more than 300 yards, though he fell three yards shy against Denver in Week 3. The Bears defense is far better than either Denver or Los Angeles’ unit, so this will be a challenge for Brady. Yet he is 5-0 in his career against the Bears and threw for 300 yards in three of those five games. In three games against Bears defenses that finished in the top 10 in total defense, Brady has averaged 304 passing yards and two touchdowns per game.

Chicago hasn’t allowed 300 yards passing all season, and it has only given up more than 230 passing yards once this year. The Bears have allowed just three passing touchdowns as well, which is the fewest in the NFL, but the Bears have not faced a quarterback of Brady’s quality yet this season. If the Chicago offense continues to struggle, the defense might be a tired unit by the third quarter and that is something Brady can exploit. The Buccaneers racked up a lot of yards in the second half last week, and that is when Chicago might be the most vulnerable.

DraftKings is also offering +240 odds on Brady throwing for at least three touchdowns, but that seems a little much for this game.

Mike Evans AND Allen Robinson Score Touchdown (+415 DraftKings)

Robinson has caught a touchdown pass in each of the last two games for the Bears as his target rate has increased as well. After a slow start to the season, Robinson has 17 catches the past two weeks while going over 100 yards receiving in both games. Given the struggles of the Bears offense, it makes sense for Foles to get the ball into Robinson’s hands as much as possible. The Buccaneers allowed three passing touchdowns last week to Justin Herbert, so Foles should be able to find Robinson in the end zone at some point in this game.

Evans has caught a touchdown pass in all four games Tampa Bay has played this season, so if the Buccaneers do find success against the Bears, Evans will likely be involved. Evans is the most targeted Buccaneers receiver, and he also has the most catches (17) and touchdowns (five) this season. Evans has had some success against good Bears defenses in the past, and this one should be no exception.

For those looking for a longshot with a big payout, you can head over the FanDuel and bet on Evans to score the first touchdown of the game at +800 odds. Evans has yet to score the first Buccaneers touchdown this season, but with O.J. Howard out for the season, Evans will be a bigger target for Brady as he tries to get into a rhythm in this game.
