NFL Odds Boosts To Watch Week 7 Monday Night Football | Bears vs Rams

Odds boosts are exactly that: Promotions from sportsbooks where they move tin your favor on certain bets. Many of them are prop bets, hoping you’ll put a few dollars on someone to hit a home run or a certain team to score a certain number of goals and still win. Our job is to highlight some of those odds boosts and give you some NFL picks to bet on, assuming it’s smart to buy into the NFL odds the sportsbooks are selling. We scour the internet trying to find the best odds boosts for you every day from every sport. Today, it’s Monday Night Football between the Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Rams.

I did not set out to make all of these odds boosts about the Bears, but there were simply not a lot of good options for the Rams. Most overestimate the success Jared Goff and the Los Angeles offensive skill players will have against the Bears. Chicago is a top-10 defense for a reason, and it ranks in the top 10 against the pass as well, which might present issues for the Rams. The Bears offense isn’t much better, but the odds boosts are at least more reasonable for Chicago as the visitors. I even was able to find a defensive wager for this list, which is a nice bonus. As always, you can find these bets and many others for tonight’s game on OddsShopper, Awesemo’s fantastic odds-shopping tool.

Week 7 NFL Picks: Monday Night Football NFL Odds Boosts

Khalil Mack Records 1.5+ Sacks (+520 DraftKings)

Tonight’s game will feature two of the best defenders in the NFL anchoring a pair of top-10 units in primetime. Mack got off to a slow start this season, but he’s come into his own in recent weeks when it comes to rushing the passer. Three of his 4.5 sacks have come in the last two weeks, and now he faces one of the least pressured quarterbacks in the league. Goff has been pressured on just 15.7 percent of his dropbacks, and he’s only been sacked seven times this season.

Yet Mack was able to sack Tom Brady twice two weeks ago, and the Buccaneers have kept him cleaner than every quarterback except Drew Brees this season. The Bears defense relies on strong pressure, and Mack is at the center of that penetration into the backfield. Goff hasn’t had to face a lot of that pressure this season, but when he has, it’s been a struggle for him. Mack has the speed and hustle to chase down Goff as he tries to extend plays, and he is able to make the big plays the Bears’ defense needs.

David Montgomery Scores Touchdown (+200 PointsBet)

This is a random odds boost on the market, but it’s something to keep an eye on after watching how often Chicago ran the ball last week. The Bears seem to be more confident in Montgomery running the ball recently, and he’ll be a vital part of helping keep Nick Foles in check tonight. Montgomery had a season-high 19 carries last week, though he is still struggling to boost his yards-per-carry average. However, he has the frame to be a goal-line weapon and help the Bears finish off strong drives.

The best part about this bet, though, is that it doesn’t limit Montgomery to just a rushing touchdown. He has just one of those this season, but he also has a receiving touchdown this year. After being targeted just nine times in the first three weeks, Montgomery had 19 passes thrown in his direction the past three weeks. Those short passes to a running back are important ways for offenses to slow down a dominant pass rusher like Aaron Donald and give Foles more time to throw to his receivers. Montgomery should have plenty of touches to potentially score tonight.

As an added bonus, you can even bet on Montgomery to score the first touchdown of the game for +700 odds at DraftKings.

Allen Robinson 80+ Receiving Yards (+140 PointsBet)

Robinson has been targeted at least nine times in all six of Chicago’s games this season, and he is by far the team’s leader in targets. He had a three-game streak of 90-yard performances snapped last week, but he’s had success against several great defenses. The Rams are certainly no exception to that as a top-10 unit, and they rank fourth against the pass. However, Chicago is still going to throw toward Robinson, so he’ll get his chances to rack up some yards because he averages nearly 10 yards per catch.

The Bears are going to need to get the ball out of Foles’ hands quickly with Donald’s presence on the defensive line, so that might mean more timing routes with trusted receivers like Robinson. If the Rams are more concerned about Robinson beating them deep, Robinson should be able to do plenty of work on the intermediate and underneath routes. His success is key to Chicago’s success as an offense, so the Bears will continue to find ways to get the ball into Robinson’s hands.
