Monday Night Football concludes a wild Week 1 in the NFL when the Baltimore Ravens visit the Las Vegas Raiders. With the start of the NFL season, the Awesemo team has launched the NFL Player Props Tool, covering each of the major prop categories for each week throughout 2021’s season. We will scavenge the sportsbooks to identify the best player props available based on the Tool’s projected values and odds of success.
Monday Night Football NFL Player Props: Ravens vs. Raiders
Henry Ruggs Over 34.5 Yards Receiving (-115)
Henry Ruggs will rise up the wide receiver depth chart given the Raiders’ offseason departures. Because of his presumed increase in targets, the Awesemo NFL Player Props Tool gives Ruggs a 68% chance to hit the over on 34.5 yards receiving, projecting him for 49.89 yards and a 27.3% return on investment. Ruggs averaged 34.76 yards per game last year, and that was with a much more crowded receiving room, so he should go over 34.5 yards tonight.
Mark Andrews Under 4.5 Receptions (+115)
Though Mark Andrews is Baltimore’s lone reliable pass catcher, the Awesemo NFL Player Props Tool predicts he will have a challenging matchup on Monday Night Football, with a player prop of 4.5 receptions tonight. Awesemo gives him a 57% chance to go under, projecting him for 4.39 receptions, pointing to a 20.4% return on investment. Last year Andrews had 58 receptions in 14 games, averaging 4.14 receptions per game, which is well under this line. The Raiders defense ranked fifth in catch rate allowed to opposing tight ends last season with 61.2% and 4.75 receptions allowed per game to the position. If all tight end targets go Andrews’ way, he has some upside, but Baltimore utilizes two-tight-end sets frequently. As such, the under is the play here.
Derek Carr Under 23.5 Completions (-130)
Derek Carr gets a stiff matchup to start the 2021 season at home, and the Awesemo NFL Player Props Tool is all in on the under on this completion total. The tool gives a 69% win rate on the under, projecting just 20.67 completion, and 21.9% return on investment. Last season Carr averaged 21.75 completions per game at 67.1% efficiency, and his career average of 22.43 completions per game also falls well below the line of 23.5. Lock in the under.
