Lightning Moneyline vs. Kings (-196, FanDuel)

The Tampa Bay Lightning start their West Coast road trip in Los Angeles to face the Kings in Crypto.com Arena. Going through a few time zone changes is never exactly easy on a team, but the Lightning still have plenty working to their advantage. Per OddsShopper, there is no single better moneyline bet than the reigning champions getting the Kings on a back-to-back, and Los Angeles allowed Timo Meier to score five goals yesterday. The Kings have also had considerable luck all year, with a +0.6 expected goals against versus actual goals against, while the Lightning have played to expectations with a zero differential.

The Lightning could be without Ondrej Palat for one more game, but he is by no means the driving force of that top line for Tampa, with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov both humming along since returning to the lineup. If the Lightning can stay out of the box (third-most penalized team in the NHL), they should have no troubles overcoming the young Kings.

Joe Pavelski Over 2.5 Shots on Goal vs. Canadiens (+102, FanDuel)

After seeing how easily the Coyotes handled the Canadiens yesterday, there are few better matchups for any team, especially a top line winger missing one of his regular linemates. Jason Robertson will be out for the second consecutive game for Dallas, which should leave even more on net opportunities for Joe Pavelski, who has over a point per game. The Stars should be aided by the Canadiens’ poor possession numbers, which are in the bottom half across the board, and they allow the fifth-most shots at five-on-five. Somehow Pavelski was held shotless last game against  Tampa (he did have an assist), but in his previous four he fired off 16 shots on net. Regression to those numbers should be expected here.
