The Nuggets continue to stay alive. Thanks to monster fourth quarters, Denver has somehow stayed undefeated through five elimination games during the 2020 NBA playoffs. Last game, it was the big man, Nikola Jokic, that led the charge for this team. He finished the game with 34 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Michael Porter also played big, putting in 13 points and sporting a +12 plus/minus off the bench. In order for Denver to complete the full comeback and move onto the Western Conference Finals, they will need production from their bench yet again.
The Clippers continue to blow big leads. There is one player that is always at the center of it, and he also happens to play some center. Montrezl Harrell has been a liability for the Clippers all postseason long, finishing with a -19 plus/minus last game. He has given good minutes in the first half of games but gets completely out-matched down the stretch. Doc Rivers is a great coach, but there are some things that he cannot just trust his players to play their way out of, especially with a postseason exit on the line.
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George continue to be the obvious leaders for the Clippers, combining for 58 of the team’s 98 points last game. Leonard in particular will need to play better tonight. There isn’t a player on the Nuggets than can guard him, shown by his 26-point scoring average this series. His team will ask him to enforce his will tonight, scoring over 30 points. If he does not, the Clippers are at serious risk of leaving the bubble.
