Nuggets – Jazz Game Info
Denver Nuggets (46-27) vs. Utah Jazz (44-28)
Date: Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
Venue: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex – Kissimmee, FL
The Nuggets have not been at full strength in the bubble, with two of their typical starters being out. However, they could finally return one today, with Gary Harris looking nearly ready to go. His return when put another shooter on the floor, but one that is capable of playing defense, which has been their weakness.
While the possible return of Harris is noteworthy, he is not the X-factor for winning this game. Instead, that’s point guard Jamal Murray, who has been red hot. He led all scorers with 42 points last game, while adding eight rebounds and eight assists without turning the ball over. The Nuggets will need him to continue putting up points in bunches and protecting the ball if they want to even the series.
The guard play for the Jazz has also been important. Mike Conley has been a completely different player in the bubble. He has averaged 23.3 points, 4.3 assists and only 0.7 turnovers in this series. This level of play has allowed Donovan Mitchell to play off ball slightly more. Still, he has averaged a whopping 37.6 points on 54.6% shooting this series. Denver has had zero answer for him defensively.

Nuggets vs. Jazz NBA Picks + Prop Bets
Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz: Over 219.5 (-110)
We may as well keep locking in the over in this series. The total has hit the over in 12 of Denver’s last 13 games and in nine of Utah’s last 11 games. The only time a game this series did not go over 220 points was in the Game 3 blowout, a game that also hit the over. If this game is somewhat close, which the NBA odds are predicting it to be, there’s no chance it doesn’t hit the over. There’s too much offense and not enough defense between these squads.
Jamal Murray – Points: Over 26.5 (-118)
As stated above, Jamal Murray is the X-factor, and he has been playing out of his mind. He has 36 or more points in three of the five games this series, including over 40 in back-to-back games. Murray has also attempted 31 and 26 shots in Games 4 and 5, respectively. If he continues this aggressive offense, which he is likely to do, he should hit the over on sheer volume alone. Murray is also in a relatively safe situation. If Denver blows out Utah, it is likely because of him. Should the game stay close, Murray will be aggressive, especially late. If Denver gets blown out again, Murray will likely try to do it all by himself. All scenarios lead to aggressive offense by Murray.
Nikola Jokic – Points: Over 26.5 (-106)
Rudy Gobert cannot guard Jokic, and it has led to success for the Denver big man all season long. Jokic has faced the Jazz eight times now. He has failed to score at least 27 points just one time, which was the Game 3 blowout. Including that game, he has averaged 27.5 points against Utah this season, and he should continue the hot streak tonight with his back up against the wall.
