🎲 PGA Betting Picks: Arnold Palmer Invitational Outrights & Each-Way Bets | Justin Rose

Whether you are a pro making your own PGA betting picks or just getting into the game, betting on golf provides a great way to sweat the action. Like most other professional sports, there are plenty of ways you can bet on golf; with outright winners, head-to-head matchups and plenty more, golf betting offers a wide array of PGA odds and wagers. There will certainly be an edge to be found each and every week, and next up is the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where we’ll be looking at Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose.

Our PGA betting series consists of three articles:

  • Outrights & Each Way (this one)
  • Head-to-Head Matchups
  • Jason’s Bet of the Day (stole this idea from Awesemo’s own Ben Rasa): Normally in-tournament matchups

Before we dive headfirst into my foursome of picks for this week, I want to make sure that we define terms for those of you who are brand new.

Outright: A bet that is placed on a golfer to win the tournament.

Each Way: A bet that covers a golfer for the top-five, top-10, and top-20 bets offered.

24 Total Picks:

  • Wins: 1
  • Top-5’s: 3
  • Top-10s: 5
  • Top-20s: 11

I stuck to my guns and stayed firm on Collin Morikawa, who gave me my second winner in a three-week span. Jumping on Morikawa early was the way to go, securing a 55-1 win investment from him. While he was a great pick, Gary Woodland shooting a 6-over 78 on Sunday crushed the return I expected to see from him given the fact that he started the day in a tie for the 15th. Still, Morikawa’s win was more than enough to make it the most profitable week yet.

PGA Betting Picks: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Tyrrell Hatton

PGA Betting Picks Arnold Palmer Invitational

Outright: 20-1 | Top 5: 4-1 |  Top 10: +175 | Top 20: -110

When picking the favorites, I look at the longest set of odds among them. This week, defending champion Tyrrell Hatton gives us that. Not only does he have the win, but he adds another top-five to his card here at Bay Hill as well. If I can get any of the other big dogs at 20-1 at some point in the tournament, I’ll add them to the card, but I’m starting with Hatton this week.

Tommy Fleetwood

Outright: 40-1 | Top 5: 8-1 |  Top 10: 4-1 | Top 20: +175

I know Fleetwood hasn’t been in his top form for almost a year, dating all the way back to last year’s missed cut at the Arnold Palmer. He was 10th in the world at that time, but since then, he has only had two top-fives and subsequently dropped outside of the top 20. What better place to stop the run of bad starts than a course that almost provided a win a few years ago? Last week showed some good signs, as Fleetwood gained strokes around the green and on the approach while losing almost 6 with the putter. That will not happen again this week.

Justin Rose

Outright: 70-1 |  Top 5: 12-1 | Top 10: 6-1 | Top 20: +275

It has been a very interesting few years for Rose’s golf game. After peaking at No. 1 in the world just over 2 1/2 years ago, he has fallen steadily since then. In that time, he decided to fire his coach Sean Foles, working on his game via his own accord. But recent social media posts suggest that Foles is now back in the picture, showing up on site this week. Given Rose’s prior success here and a good start out in Saudi Arabia a few weeks back, I like him at these long odds.

He can’t be double that of Jordan Spieth to win a golf tournament, can he?

Bomb of the Week: Adam Long

Outright: 250-1 | Top 5: 33-1 | Top 10: 14-1 | Top 20: 11-2

Long is a guy that disappears for a while, then reappears with a chance to win over the weekend. Given his good history here — a 24th and 10th in his last two appearances — and some close calls the last few weeks, I think it’s a good time to jump on him at these inflated odds.
